@_elena @msdropbear42 makes sense. I don't use Frienlica much, so I'm not missing this functionality. My main fediverse service is Mastodon.

@_elena@mastodon.social I was using Mastodon's official Android app for a while. I tried a bunch of different third-party apps and didn't like the UI. Lately, I have been trying Fedilab since it does both Mastodon and Friendlica. Now, I added Phanpy to my home screen on my mobile and also on my Linux and Windows PCs. It also runs very well in a sidebar of Vivaldi browser on Desktop. It's the same experience across all platforms, and I love it!

Now if it also supported Lemmy, that would be so wonderful!!

@_elena@mastodon.social Thank you very much for the blog post! I'm using Phanpy to post this reply after finding a link to it in your blog. I've been trying multiple clients to combine my Mastodon and Friendlica accounts that are also multiplatform (mobile, desktop). This one does it beautifully!

There's a reason that all past attempts at the establishment of communist states have failed. Lenin, Mao, et al, had grand ideas steeped in Marxist teachings. All of them ended up in an authoritarian state. Cuba, North Korea, China, USSR. All failed because of the human factor.

There are none! There's a reason pure communism is called a utopia. Because it is! While it may work for a small community of like-minded individuals, is just not scalable. The more people there are the more difference of opinion there is.

It's only going to be possible if we as humanity realize that we are not alone in the universe and another species threatens us from outer space. I don't know any other way that we can all unite as earthlings and realize the fallacy of carving up the world into spheres of influence for a few, mostly militaristic men.

@matcha_addict I agree with you. Historically Jews and Arabs that occupied this land are the same people with different religious beliefs. They are all Semites. They should be able to live together.
Globally speaking, the borders of counties are just arbitrarily drawn lines on the map. Lines, drawn by individual people who decided for the masses where they can and cannot have a home.
I believe, we as humans, should abolish borders of any kind.

The issue here is similar to most of the land contest issues in the world: what historical period you use to determine land ownership. As an example: most of the current territory of Russia was once occupied by Mongolian tribes under the leadership of Chenghis Khan. So if that's the frame of reference you use, Mongolia has legitimate rights to wage war to reclaim their land.
