UPDATE: I mean this post for Firefox for Android.
Saw it today. It could have been so much more. Lots of inconsistencies regarding what the child can do.
Pretty much a blow everything up, action, special effects type of movie. Story was okay. Somewhat original. A few emotional manipulation tricks towards the end.
I'd give it a B-.
Update: wanted to add the cinematography was really good. Very inspiring scenery. That was the best part. The child actor was very good too. Those were the best parts of the movie. The US Army General was one dimensional, shallow, and just a bad stereotype. Very poorly done. That was the stupidest/worse parts of the movie.
Keychron Q13 Pro Full Size (Alice Layout) looks pretty cool. I have the Keychron Q3 TKL (not an ergo board) that I've been pretty happy about for a while now.
In another life I used to use the MS Natural ergo rubber dome keyboard and it was really great for comfort and preventing RSI. So I've been looking for a good mechanical (or Topre) ergo keyboard for a very long time. I think the Keychron Q10 Pro 75% TKL (Alice Layout) might be the one.
I wondered if there are other means, beside a mask or face cover, to not be seen. Like some sort of cream you put on, like you would sunscreen, that somehow tricks the camera recognition tools. ???
Seeing lots of spam and ads for illegal drugs, etc. Are the moderators on vacay?
What video? I'm out of the loop.
Definitely worth bookmarking. Lots of arithmetic going on there. Incredibly really.
Wow, very cool.
This is a pretty common wish, I'd wager. Know everything you know now with no responsibility. Ace school cause it'd be like a review. Friends and romance would be much, much easier with your experience. You would be SO free simply be knowing it's such a waste of time and energy worrying about certain things (am I normal, does she like me, am I ugly, etc.)
Oh to just sit back and relax with nothing hanging over my head and no responsibilities (compared to an adult). Oh, to have that very strong feeling of wonder and know your while life ahead of you and the possibilities are endless!
What a beautiful and splendid fantasy. If only.
For $13,000 I can be 16 again? SOLD!!!
Tiny things, like tiny doorknobs, tiny stairs cases, tiny doors, tiny houses, tiny cars, and a tiny say in government legislation, etc.
And all the smoking! Eek. And we thought we had a drug problem in the USA. I've never seen so many people addicted to nicotine in my life when I've been there. It's everywhere. No thank you, I don't want to inhale nasty odor while eating my lunch. Jeez, WTF?
And those who lobby them and/or help them get reelected.
Depends on what "running the world" means. That needs clarification.
I second Octavia Butler.
On my list to read, but haven't yet, is N.K. Jemisin.
A fairly new author is Malcom Turnbull. He was on a radio interview a while back and the book (The Lesson) sounded interesting so I gor it and read it.
A lot of the sci-fi books I've been reading lately have black [main] characters. I don't know if those authors are black though. I have to look into it.
MiX file explorer for android does this. It's free. Not sure if it's open source though, does anyone know?
It does use open source libraries.
Latest version is 6.64.3 beta.

I recently finished Station Eleven and honestly thought it was a bit boring. After that read I was put off of that author. Is Sea of Tranquility on par with Station Eleven? Should I reconsider?
Mushrooms.
Be excellent to each other!
It's in my queue. Really looking forward to it. Heard lots of good things.
No I haven't, but it looks good. I have read The Wayward Pines Trilogy and Dark Matter, both by Crouch. I liked the Pines. Dark Matter was okay.
Thanks for the tip.
I like time travel, if that's a trope. I'm always looking for a new take on it as many different stories using it have already been told.

It is not possible to read all the Sci-Fi books out there. So you must have a process for selecting what you do read. Reading a book is an investment in your time. Your time is valuable. No one wants to waste that time reading unworthy books.
I have never codified my criteria. And it has changed and evolved over time. I suspect it will continue to change moving forward, as who I am tomorrow is not who I was yesterday.
What is your criteria to date?
Mine is that it must meet ALL the following criteria, some objective and some subjective.
- it must have at least 1,000 reviews
- it must have at least 70% 5-star reviews
- if after reading about it I get the suspicion that it’s a romance disguised as Sci-Fi, I automatically reject it no matter what
- if it’s YA, it really needs to be exceedingly compelling to choose it
- Space Opera also needs to be exceedingly compelling
- if I get the feeling it’s trying to preach I’ll reject it
- if i get the feeling it has (messaging, strong opinions, or political overtones) about today’s societal issues, I probably won’t choose it. Not judging; I primarily read for escapism.
I guess that’s about it. There’s probably more but I just haven’t put that much thought into it yet.
I’m very interested in how y’all decide to choose a book to spend your valuable time reading.
