I didn't know I accused boomers, or older people specifically, of anything. Did I do that? Or am I misunderstanding what you mean?
If you didn't know this, you haven't been paying attention. Right wing voices have gone hard at the young male demographic for years now. They've targeted kids in online games and social media, and groomed them for years all with the goal of shaping their world view and by extension, their politics. Lonely young guys looking at people who present themselves as successful, rich, and rolling in women, not giving a fuck about anyone but themselves, telling young boys that they just need to be more sexist and racist and that'll get them laid and make them feel fulfilled. Telling them that the world is wrong and they're not. It's been extremely successful, and all wide out in the open. That's why voices like Andrew Tate made it into the public zeitgeist.
Frankly, it's an absolute failing on all of the left for being completely unable or unwilling to see this or show an alternative world view. Too often, when I hear people talk about young white men's issues, I get crocodile tears from everyone who can't separate them from actual right wing provocateurs.
Got a non-paywall version?
The unflattering angle and double chin really hit home.
That photo reeks of fetal alcohol syndrome
Here's hoping this fuckin guy loses his right to vote.
You think you're sick of it? Try living here where the ads never stop.
So what the fuck do we need CBS for again?
The board and the executives are the problem, so if they're the ones ordering the investigation, this is pointless.
This is probably why they pumped the brakes so hard on Assassin's Creed Shadows. The state they released Star Wars Outlaws in was absolutely abysmal. Something tells me they figured if they did the same thing with assassin's Creed shadows, they were fucked. They're also now releasing that one day one on steam. I really get the distinct feeling that if assassin's Creed's shadows doesn't sell for Ubisoft, they're in serious trouble.
These white, Republican congressmen are wild. Cocaine fueled bingers, sex trafficking, Christofascism. Rape and disease. Nastiest leaders in the free world. Cults, wannabe gangsters. But damn if they don't feel emboldened now, attacking anyone they can.
Thanks for calling that out. We've home grown Nazi's for a long while now, we didn't just inherit them after WW2
We're talking about what can be proven, and the DoJ seems to think they can prove Visa drove the market this way. You're talking about a hypothetical market where Visa didn't do what they did, which is irrelevant.
This wasn't a natural push to a monopoly though. Visa used their size and leverage to force end users to use their debit network and squeeze out the competition. They'd charge higher fees on companies who didn't use their services. So I disagree, this isn't a natural monopoly.
If they fix some of the wonky character animations during cut scenes, it might be worth it for that alone.
Is it too simplistic? I have plenty of games I'd consider kids games that I haven't returned.
It's about the data. It's always about the data.
I played through final fantasy 16 on PS5, and well... Let's just say I'm not in any hurry to play through it again.
Once you've figured out how the combat works, there's really no additional depth to it. The summon fights look spectacular but aren't all that engaging. Lots of spectical, not a lot of challenge. The game is absolutely gorgeous, but it's so so shallow in gameplay. The side quests are extremely boring. The main story is ok too. They really tried to be a lot more serious like game of thrones, but still kept it like right below that mature line, so it felt like a half measure to me.
There is absolutely no depth to the weapons or equipment outside of 'number go up'. There aren't any elemental weaknesses in you or the enemies, so The only challenge comes from the actual fighting technique, perfect blocks perfect parries, and chaining together different summon powers. If you like the combat, you'll enjoy doing the monster hunts, but there aren't many hunts compared to other ff games.
Overall, the story is decent, if a little lacking in focus. I'd probably say it's worth picking up on sale, but it is not really worth the current price tag at all. It really is a shell of a final fantasy game compared to the past games. It's a great looking action game, but it's shallow.
I mean, I like to think Sony made it perfectly clear this time around. There's really no excuse this time. People were warning other people, Sony had it on the system requirements sheet, and Steam had it listed as soon as the page went up. So if you still picked up the game and then decided to bitch about the PlayStation Network requirement because you didn't know, that's on you.
Flipside, if you bought the game just to bitch about the PlayStation network requirement, knowing full well this would be a requirement, you're way more privileged than me. When I don't like how someone does something, I typically don't give them money unless I don't have a choice.
Oh to be someone outside, looking in at this series... It must look absolutely insane lol. As someone who's been playing these games for years now, this feels right at home for this series to me.

If you aren't aware, the Ghost Stories English Dub is one of the most insane dubs ever made. It's incredibly offensive and racist and bat shit insane at times and it's probably one of the funniest things I've ever watched. Scamboli Reviews has a great summary video about it. If you have time, it's worth watching this anime at least once in your life.
The Gold Saucer is sure to be fantastic, and I'm excited to see the date scene. But I'm particularly interested in how they do Barret and Dyne's encounter. I hope they expand on that whole moment.
Can we discuss the start of act 2?
I made it a point not to roll back my saves for any decision I make. So far, I've managed to save the tiefling's at the druid camp. Being a tiefling myself, I want to see them make it!
This made me all the more excited to see all the tiefling's that I'd saved make it this far. And boy were there a lot of them. So many people I recognized from previous conversations or quests. I was thrilled! And they of course remembered me.
I say all this to emphasize how hard it hit me when I wasn't able to protect Isabel. That whole interaction blindsided me so bad. And my initiative roll was horrible for all my characters, I ended up being paralyzed and they just slaughtered her in 2 turns.
It was a freaking gut punch, the likes I haven't felt in a game in years. All those innocent people, turned to monsters, then forcing me to put them down.
My main character was always so optimistic before this. This interaction is gonna make me change the way I play and the decisions I make going forward, just to really add to the impact of him losing all those people he cared about, thinking the decisions he made led to their death.
Is there anyone living the good life with their tiefling friends in the Last Light Inn? Anyone who saved Isabel? Because my character just lost his people and is a broken person now because of it.
If you're snooping here, you gotta calm yoself down.
