  • Don't apologise 😄 It might be better if you use bloggy parts of your site as a main page, they might be actually useful for you and other people. Make about page that is about you, what you have done (even small projects but not hello world level), what are you actually interested in doing. Right now it's impossible to understand that. Some social links doesn't work, or return 404.

  • 2/10

    1. Your website is broken on phones
    2. Reloading the page redirects to the main page
    3. Your badly cropped image is not that important to be at the center
    4. Languages and tools list with creator names and dates instead of your proficiency in them is useless
    5. Projects, Notes, Current obsession pages are fucked up and end unexpectedly
    6. Make Notes, Projects, and current obsession single page
    7. Your occupation and location are pretty much unreadable on the yellow background of your jacket.
  • I don't know a thing about hyprland specifically, but first enable persistent journal so you will be able to look what exactly happened before black screen.

After enabling look at the end of the previous boot, probably it has nothing to do with hyprland.

  • Why would you need anything but rock? Actually what's the point of all that fancy thermobaric drops, why can't they just drop small rocks (size of a big rock)? Everyone fears avalanches, and rock is like a small one!

  • Lemmy is worse when it comes to opinions that challenge the general consensus, that's for sure. It comes from being really small even in absolute numbers, and community being separated at least between two big-ish camps, and people from both of these camps holding more or less homogenous views.

  • I think I never claimed being a security expert. Do you need to be a security expert to state that wireguard as it is not really usable and needs a lot of resources to build something of it and the final result will be worse than openvpn by all metrics except purity from security standpoint?

  • That wasn't flame, I have a dubious honor of supporting wireguard based vpn service. What part of my claims is false? There is no general purpose vpn suite based on wireguard (I'm talking openvpn style, not just pseudo lan that can't even tell if the other end is alive), wg included with kernel is extremely limited and pretty much worthless for anything but p2p connections, and as much as I hate ike I would prefer to use it instead. As for me not replying to the author, I have seen his posts before, he is not a pleasant person to speak to.

Edit: After re-reading my first post it might look as a personal attack, that wasn't my intention at all, just this post came after I've finished trying to debug another wireguard problem in our app. 🫠

  • I've never owned cows, childhood experience taught me that they are pretty dumb, in the sense that they are slow to react on both ends, as in they won't react to something fast enough, but when they react they are even slower to stop doing shit, especially when stressed. My friend and I had once to stop a calf from strangling itself after she tangled herself in a rope, another time I've seen them try to attack a truck after it moved on and they psyched each other for like ten minutes after the fact (good times, lol).

  • You do have a point that he can one day change his life and become a monk. but.

It's not that child should pay for the sins of a father it's more that he is: not a child - 18 is considered adult almost everywhere, not a victim by any metric imaginable, is from extremely priveleged background. Why would you or anyone should feel pity for him when he is doing great actually?

  • No they aren't, I've seen them kill themselves in the most dumb way for no reason except them being mindless automata. Heard the same about cows. Goats are pretty smart btw.

Update: instinct-driven is really good description of them
