I'm not sure what exactly you're aware of that was debunked. I'm down to find out, though.
Here's a link to the study and here's the press release about the study. For what it's worth, it was mentioned in both that they're not sure how or why this worked, that it's preliminary findings, and that there's lots more research to do.
Kudos to them for using various methods of microscopy and properly labeling each image. My microscopy nerdiness tingled inside.
I bit the bullet after I read there the Sync app was released. Now I'm lurking until I find the communities I love best... and it feels like they're already starting to spring up. If I had the time to, I'd make and mod them myself.
It feels so surreal to be in a newly-budding set of communities with the same UI I fell in love with years ago.
