it did. it lives on as the proprietary KaiOS, used in cheap feature phones.
usually you invest in the main product to drive higher returns for diversifying. diversifying first means your baseline is unstable.
it's a good idea to not look to deeply into the historic actions of the creator of llamafile. she's pretty polarising.
i used to give them money, until i saw their finances. they have become dependent on donations increasing year over year even though the running costs roughly follow inflation.
it's not replacement, it's expansion. our population has grown by about 2%. also, since we pivoted to a "service economy", we are down on entry level jobs, which are being taken by immigrants because 1) the higher-education jobs all have stricter requirements and 2) they have more work experience and are willing to work for less than swedish teenagers.
none of this matters to the people who fear them taking over. it's pure populism.
hi, i'm a progressive swedish leftist.
what happened was, the centre-right coalition that made the decision to take in immigrants had no integration plan. these people basically got sent off to places where there was already a higher percentage of immigrants, forming a sort of parallel society.
However, this was about ten years ago, after most of these current gang criminals were born.
the main issue is that due to a decision by a left-wing govt in the 90s, school and youth activity budgets are handled at a local level, meaning poorer areas get much lower quality education, and less recreation. it's a textbook high-criminality recipe.
well speech-dispatcher has no synthesis component, you can plug in any tts engine that follows the interface. it's nice to have a choice in engine just by implementing the support. personally i use piper which i feel gives a pretty good performance.
i believe that's what speech-dispatcher is; a uniform interface for tts systems.
gnome 2 was a traditional desktop. gnome 3 tried something new, and has stuck with it. people who didn't like that thing made MATE, which is a lot like gnome 2.
gnome is extremely opinionated, yes. personally i like how it's set up, but the way they build it rubs me the wrong way.
yakety sax is based on a song with lyrics! "yakety yak" by the Coasters
shouldn't there at least be an option to use speech-dispatcher
?
I've been using the paid version of tapet for like eight years now.
the reporter is a real asshat, judging by their twitter.

it's stressful. I'm preparing to move but need to travel the days before. i also don't know where I can park my car at the new place because there's a queue to parking spots. every day at work is a potential "international incident" waiting to happen but we're still just doing business as usual. I can't get myself to exercise even though i already paid for the membership. I spend all my free time doing nothing and then feeling bad about it.
our uni had mandatory chemistry for all engineering degrees, even industrial economics and computer engineering, so naturally a lot of people had to re-take it. the registrations weren't done processing for weeks, and during that time you had to assume you were in, or you'd be hopelessly behind. that lecture hall was filled to the brim the first few weeks every semester. people were sitting in the aisles, on the stairs, in the window sills, two to a chair... it was insanity. i really hope they fixed that.
i liked him on The Unbelievable Truth, so this might be up my alley
I have two monitors, one 1440x3440 and one 1080x1920 to its right. Every boot, the desktop on my left monitor moves over and displays on top of the right one. Killing and restarting plasmashell moves it to where it should be, but i'd love to fix this without adding that to my .xsession. Thing is, i'm not versed enough in the KDE internals to know where this issue even stems from.
I'm running EndeavourOS with Plasma 6.1.5 on X11. I haven't tried wayland since Plasma 6 switched to it and then promptly flickered itself into a crash.
Edit: This machine runs the amdgpu-pro driver, and has done since before plasma 6 released. i didn't have this problem on plasma 5.
