@sit Yes, and it can be worn as a slouchy hat (below) or as a watch cap, and of course is fully reversible.
@ChaosCoati I didn’t, actually, but when I was finished and sent a pic to a knitting friend she responded “The Musselburgh Hat!” and sure enough, my cast on and off are different but yeah, it’s the Musselburgh Hat!
Found my stitch markers and finished the hat! It fits so well, the yarn is so dang cheerful, it can be worn a variety of ways, and most importantly it doesn’t mess with hearing aids when I put it on and take it off!
@TeaHands That sounds like a most excellent weekend. Love the part of the sheep sticking it's head in!
Stephen West's Corrugated Shawl on my needles (just look at those rows of Norwegian purls!) and Seveneves on Audible, all afternoon. 👌
@weirdsquid Yes! I finally got the ‘how’ last night. Hoping today in the daylight of the airport lounge I can figure out the ‘why’!
@Anticorp Honestly not so bad. Flew out early this morning, return Friday. We even had empty middle seats on our flight this morning!
Thanksgiving break begins! Early morning airport knitting (Stephen West’s Corrugation shawl; Noro silk and wool yarn).
Yarn haul!
So it turns out that the walk from my office to the local yarn store and back is exactly the distance I need to be walking every day. Too bad for my wallet!
Introducing yesterday's walk, er, haul: 4 skeins of Noro Haunui Silk for another Corrugation Shawl, and 3 skeins of La Bien Amiee worsted for the Hick Cowl from Ravelry.
I’m pretty pleased with my progress as I (finally) dedicate time to learn the continental knitting style. Knitting is picking up speed but I have a really tough time maintaining proper tension in the yarn in my left hand when I do the Norwegian purl stitch. Any advice? I loop the yarn over my middle finger and feed it in over my forefinger.
On a side note, its been funny to watch my right hand forefinger reach out towards the yarn whenever I get confused! 😆
Nautilus Shawl from Ravelry, washed and blocked! I substituted an i cord for the original cast off, and I’m really happy with how it turned out.
