Would you call communist states (an oxymoron, I know) instruments of class opression?
All governments are authoritiarian, but to what extent?
I more-meant the difference between the libertarian and authoritarian right/left, its a useful distinction to have.
!conservative@lemmy.today !conservative@hilariouschaos.com
These two comms are modded, and mostly populated by those guys (there is speculation that they are the same people, hence, they are banned on lemm.ee).
Auth-right would be fascism.
I wanted to point out that, even though they are authoritarian, they are still leftist. The Political Compass adds a bit of nuance, so there can be a distinction.
Yeah, lemmy.zip is great.
Shit on the political compass all you want, it does help bring a bit of nuance into discussions like this:
Upon closer look, you guys didn't block them: hexbear.net/instances
Anyway, I don't think people were really pushed away from LBZ, it was just the 196 thing and a few people gettin banned for pissing themselves about neopronouns.
In any case, the 196 community wanted to stay, the alternate comm is more popular (by MAU) than the original.
Assuming you're talking about moss (the admin, not the plant), she mentioned that they didn't try to leave because of anything due to neopronouns (and she mentioned this is the post).
It was because of Ada moderating communities as well, and being (in her opinion), overbearing.
FWIW, the migration was botched, and everyone's at !onehundredninetysix@lemmy.blahaj.zone now.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't hexbear also block LBZ? If so, why's that?
isnโt the entire point of a federated platform that youโre going to be able to access other instances?
Yes, but the point isn't to connect to every instance.
Curated instances and smaller networks within the fediverse were always thought of.
https://lemmy.zip/ has a similar federation policy, they have hexbear.net and lemmygrad.ml user-blocked by default, but this can be disabled.
join-lemmy.org/ has a list of instances.
They only block lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works, and a few small servers.
Its honestly a really pleasant place to be -- I see no negativity there.
https://lemmy.zip/ is the closest imo.
I see a few people recommending lemmygrad, lemmy.ml and hexbear, I don't really think you'd enjoy those servers too much unless you are interested in leftism/communism.
I think they're talking about lemmy.blahaj.zone.
They also shielded universalmonk and donaldjmusk (conservative/republican posters).
I'm called a liberal by hexbear and a radical leftist by liberals.
Different admins; some instances federate with some, some block others.
The main problem would be that all the images disappear with it.
Of course, I could use an external host.
Admin burnout.
