https://lemmy.zip/ has a similar federation policy, they have hexbear.net and lemmygrad.ml user-blocked by default, but this can be disabled.
join-lemmy.org/ has a list of instances.
They only block lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works, and a few small servers.
Its honestly a really pleasant place to be -- I see no negativity there.
https://lemmy.zip/ is the closest imo.
I see a few people recommending lemmygrad, lemmy.ml and hexbear, I don't really think you'd enjoy those servers too much unless you are interested in leftism/communism.
I think they're talking about lemmy.blahaj.zone.
They also shielded universalmonk and donaldjmusk (conservative/republican posters).
I'm called a liberal by hexbear and a radical leftist by liberals.
Different admins; some instances federate with some, some block others.
The main problem would be that all the images disappear with it.
Of course, I could use an external host.
Admin burnout.
Yeah, but there's no point in continuing to use it at this point.
So why did you guys federate with it?
lemm.ee is shutting down, due to admin burnout.
All the images disappear, since they are just links on remote instances.
A copy of all the accounts, comms, posts and comments stay on any instance around to recive them, but they are not fetchable.
Hopefully they come back.
Here is a very poor edit
No, because most of the other instances are probably more prepared.
This is my first time hearing about this.
