‘Andrew Tate is a symptom, not the problem’: why young men are turning against feminism
  • The Me Too movement opened a lot of eyes to just how widespread sexual violence against women is. And how women see men, justifiably, as threats until proven otherwise.

But there is another truth not mentioned: Males who were victims of sexual violence and rightfully thought the MeToo movement would help bring that to light as well were instead ridiculed and thrown out. Male victims of both male and female sexual violence are still not heard, which should have been part of the movement's focus. The recent reminder post about the man who tried to found a shelter for male victims but ended up broke and his efforts ignored and eventually disbanded should have been a strong ally for the movement, so the push for feminism rings somewhat hollow for those victims, even as they do support the message presented, but will not benefit from the movement's successes.

  • Democrats worry their most loyal voters won’t turn out for Biden in 2024
  • If you’re going to make an extraordinary claim like “Rachel Maddow’s (objectively correct) reporting that the entire concept of superdelegates is bullshit, changed the outcome of the Democratic primary,” you better cough up some extraordinary evidence.

If you have to badly fake a quote from apostr you are replying to, then you clearly don't have a legitimate arguement and need evidence to porove that your commments even have any merit at all. I clearly stated "see Rachel Maddow and all of the media trying to say Hilary had too many Delegates already pledged to her to overcome before the first primary vote did incredible damage"

Nothing there at all about the entire conecpt of superdelegates that you yourself self-inserted and shows that perhaps the truth may lie in you either believing completely in the lie to push away anyone who isn't a true blue Democrat from having any say in the party's direction, or you are one of those far right Trump supporting trolls who used this "I supported/voted for Bernie in the primary until Hilary won the DNC nomination" argument to pretend that they were actually on the side of Bernie supporters to get them to vote for Trump. Lies, gaslighting and pretending to be on the same side as the person they are arguing with tells me which side you are on and what YOUR intentions here are.

  • Democrats worry their most loyal voters won’t turn out for Biden in 2024
  • I think the bigger problem was that he was completely honest and showed that his message was consistent with his actions and votes over his career. Being smeared and pushed aside early on (see Rachel Maddow and all of the media trying to say Hilary had too many Delegates already pledged to her to overcome before the first primary vote did incredible damage that the "she got more votes than Bernie" group cleanly ignore had a huge effect, and that he still nearly won anyway shows how big the support really was that the Democratic party actively destroyed.

  • Things you wished you knew before setting up your Deck?
  • Decky Loader gives you some really cool add ons that can help enhance your experience. Lots of different addons are available, but Powertools is popular and can help tweak things to help stretch battery usage a bit, and since I use Emudeck and other non-Steam apps (like the Heroic launcher and the Epic Game Store launcher), SteamGridDB gives images to those otherwise iconless apps.

The right touchpad as a mouse is so intuitive and useful in general, things like the ROG Ally seem less capable (even if they are much more powerful and have better specs than the Steamdeck otherwise).

  • Things you wished you knew before setting up your Deck?
  • If you're a little less CLI savvy, KDE Connect will be much easier. Winpinator on your desktop and Warpinator on the Steamdeck works well and can sometimes help if file copies via KDE Connect fail.

Biden confronts a 'pissed-off generation' of young voters who may be decisive in 2024
  • Fair point, but she is getting a lot of notice and support from the younger crowd and the fact that she doesn't even get listed in the mainstream media (while Trump and RFK Jr get publicity), which adds to why the younger generations are just completely disillusioned by the media and both parties. Remember how Hilary's mocking of Sanders' supporters was normalized by the media and even publicity since then, which makes many think that we dodged a bullet with Hilary losing, even though Trump was far far worse because both look like narcissistic jerks that gave us no real options in 2016 to anyone under 50 (and quite a few older than 50 at this point, I suspect). Having one side seem so far right that they make them look like part of the Nazi party doesn't help the Democratic party get away from clearly being to the right of Reagan Republicans of the 1980s in most cases. We just have a much slower descent to corporate rule instead of at least trying to reverse it.

  • Add in that many younger voters and many of us who are independent aren't allowed to vote in the Democratic primaries at all. Not to mention that the media have also been actively lowering visibility of any Democratic presidential candidate who hasn't been a decade+ dedicated fall-in-line Democrat.

Clinton was basically sold as the only candidate running for months before the primaries started and presented as much to fight Bernie's popularity through most of the primary season. Marianne Williamson, who is supported by a large percentage of younger folks for the 2024 elections, isn't even mentioned while Biden is listed essentially as having no competition. Just like the gerrymandering propping up Republicans in many locations, the deck is stacked against anyone who isn't already backed by the established parties. Trump broke through, though using a combination of what nearly helped Bernie break through but also fully supporting the angry activists that didn't think the Republican party was ddoing enough at the time.

  • What are your use cases for the Steam Deck?
  • My other use case is emulation. It’s really good at it, and even passable at emulating the Switch. Though the sleep/wake doesn’t work with those, it’s a trade off.

This was identified as a bug with the lock screen. If you have a lock screen passcode set on the steamdeck, the emulation has trouble processing it and reboots the entire system (not every time, but most of the time). Turnign off the lockscreen fixes this, but obviously if you travel with it, you don't want to do that.

There is aYuzu comment that suggests usingf the App Image version instead of the flatpak version might fix this too. https://github.com/yuzu-emu/yuzu/issues/9114
