i typically pull over and take shelter (gas station, retail store, etc.) for lightning. it’s pretty rare for it to last a long time, at least where i am. most folks have no problem letting you loiter until the storm passes.
i've been exhausted, but i don't have any downtime until saturday. (hooray, beach trip!) really looking forward to sitting on the beach for several hours under the shibumiTM getting some reading done.
the company i work for switched to half day fridays, which i typically use to tie up loose ends. it works really well! and i still get a little bit of work done without feeling like i’m barely scraping by.
the birds and squirrels ate all my tomatoes, haha. at least my rosemary and lavender are doing well. i'll likely transplant them to the front yard (currently in containers) before fall.
i’ve had the chance to see their work, and they’re bringing good into the world. i care less about where the money is going and more about the net positive for the folks who otherwise wouldn’t have it without the “greedy backers.”
speaking on cycling in particular, there is still plenty to enjoy about short rides! you can always take another mode of transportation to a new place and go for a short ride there if you’re looking for a new “project.”
my budget is finally back on track. i've owed my partner money for awhile (new to us house repairs and such), and i finally had enough of a cushion to pay him back + have enough for the rest of the month, including our first property tax bill. feels good, man.
wholeheartedly agree! css has been my main job for going on 15 years because i’ve always enjoyed its quirks. the past 5 years or so have felt like leaps and bounds in terms of how i structure markup and styling. it’s such a fun language to learn. stuff like flex and grid make my work so much easier so i can spend more time on the fun stuff.
thank you! :)
