  • The donkey likely can run faster at first, but it will need to stop to rest way sooner than the human.

It's the same reason a human will always win against an equine in a long distance race: If the equine does not stop to rest, it will die for lack of oxygen.

Humans have evolved in such a way that we can fully breathe while running. Thus, we can hunt large game till they need to stop in order to fully breathe again, and then BAM!

  • not that Netflix has commercials

There's a tier with commercials for many countries now.

  • Something I learned from the "other site" personal finance sub: You are not responsible for your mother's debt, do not make any payments directly for any of her debt, or else that's enough in some states for debtors to then go after you. There's other tips and tricks to keep your finances separate from your mother's, don't feel bad looking after yours as the primary priority. Remember: A caregiver that's completely exhausted (either physically/mentally/financially) can't take care of anybody, so remember to take care of yourself first. I hope things get better for the both of us, I'm in a similar boat.

  • Sure, but I meant that after he was fired, he was/is still beholden to several contractual terms about non-competes for a set amount of time.

  • I'd love to know who's footing the bill for his trip.

Also, I thought the terms of is foxnews contract were such that he isn't supposed to be doing any news anchoring type gigs - did something change?

  • I think the whole Turkey having started buying Russian armaments predates the current embargo. Like, I can recall them buying some Russian anti-air defense shit designed to down NATO aircraft about 5 years ago or so.

So it's been more so about Erdoğan trying to assert some weird ass attempt at displayingf dominance. That fucker's been the president for a decade straight now, looking awfully lot like a despot at this point. And they're a NATO member right there, mmhm. Yup.

  • I feel like every single family home has HOA dues, these days, so that comparison is kinda moot

Narp. I wouldn't buy a house in a hoa ever again, and haven't had issues finding the last two I lived in (in both large and small markets).

  • No ragrets.

  • Michael Jace, former star on The Shield

Perhaps better known for his role in Murder, She Wrote: The Last Free Man - you can't make this shit up.

  • my conscience is held captive to the word of God, not to bureaucratic decree. And so I acted

You know what is going to be held captive by bureaucratic decree? Your felon status, fucker!

Can I have your AR-15 once you're convicted? Because you won't be allowed to own it after! And j/k about your rifle, I bet it's a PSA p p piece of shit (dumbasses like this guy tend to be poor whiskey tango).

  • For reference, this is what it looks like for me (desktop firefox):

So, looks fine to me formatting-wise. I read the intent to be that (1) they're quoting you, and (2) they're conveying a government building should not be a place for religious iconography, at all.

I'd be happier if there would be no religious presence in government buildings too, but alas, the SC has ruled for what we've got. So I suppose it's nice at least that we've got TST to help ensure our governments aren't playing favorites

  • You know, if you're going to go and commit a federal felony, you might not want to look like a Michael Bolton + Dog the Bounty Hunter lovechild. An FBI field agent that lives in the same county as this dude was like "oh yeah, that's Ralph, he's no longer just on a watch list after this".

On further thought, that look should probably be shit canned in general, except for maybe a Kid Rock "concert".

  • Same initial training too. I went to basic training and tech school with a lot of guardsmen.

  • All right! Shut up a second and I'll tell you! Jesus! I didn't freak out like this when you told me how many girls you fucked!

  • Don't forget about their outdated-hIpster friend, Brave Chromium.

  • I've got an older bro who is ambidextrous due to not being allowed to be left-handed in kindergarten (and beyond). He got held back due to "developmental" problems. I can't believe the teachers and principal were so dumb that they couldn't connect the dots as to what was really going on.

  • I'd want it as an option for myself if I ever got a terminal disease that would have me die a horribly painful and undignified death (not to mention potentially bankrupting my family).

The trick is to ensure that it isn't abused on individuals that never made the choice for themselves, and that they're of sound mind without coercion when they make the decision.

  • The one the front (wheel) fell off? Yeah that's not very typical, I'd like to make that point.

Edit: Annnnd I'm not the first making this reference, lol!
