Oh, well it definitely feels like it’s using Swift UI for the majority of the UI (although not all, as I said). Regardless, great job on Memmy!
Edit: after taking a closer look at Bean (which I should’ve done earlier lol), it looks like Apple’s UI is only really used in the menus and pop-ups of Bean. That’s pretty embarrassing but oh well lol. If you’re looking for proper full swift with swift UI, Mlem is the way!
Definitely +1 for Mlem. It’s my main. I’d also like to give Bean a shoutout! While it’s not entirely Swift IU (far as I can tell), it’s way more Swift than Memmy and just as if not more feature rich!
Give Mlem a shot. It’s on the App Store and has a fully optimised iPadOS app
It’s on the App Store but even that version isn’t native (written in Swift with Swift UI) as far as I can tell
It is. But this one will just go on forever. Not entirely sure what the point of having a station and a playlist is 🤷♂️
Dude, calm down. It helps people. It’s faster than a lot of landline internet. And it’s good for more than just rural communities. Now personally, it doesn’t affect me at all. I live in a big city. But that doesn’t mean it’s not useful. There are plenty of people living rurally who can afford this too. Living away from people doesn’t make you poor lol. What kind of an idea is that? It’s not “absolutely shit” it’s an incredibly useful technology that can improve the lives of many. Now don’t get me wrong. Spake debris is an important issue that needs to be solved. But that doesn’t mean we should just scrap every space project lol. That’s like saying “argh, there are so many cars on the road. We should just get rid of them all because they could crash”. That’s not a solution. Starlink satellites are also designed to fall back to earth, and burn up on re-entry. Which obviously doesn’t just solve the problem but it’s an improvement and an important step
Well said! I think I agree with pretty much all of that
You think we should just destroy millions of dollars worth of cutting edge internet architecture which aids rural communities have usable internet globally because you don’t like the guy who paid for it? Seriously?
I’m simply stating what I see and that it’s disappointing. Not sure how that can be seen as cynical or pessimistic
Islam is just one religion. It’s not all religions and not all religious people are like that. Not even all followers of Islam are like that. Dislike a person for what they have done. Don’t dislike a person for what they believe. I’m not suggesting that no one has done anything bad for a religion at all. I’m saying hating a person simply because they identify as a part of a religion is extremely shortsighted and makes this world worse
Ah, I see. Well to explain what I mean, I was saying that the message he was converting could be misinterpreted and imo it should be stated more prominently what he actually means so that he doesn’t sound like one of these people. For the record, I am specifically referring to the last part of his message
I have to agree. Especially with that last one. The amount of cynical and/or pessimistic people on here making up a strong vocal (hopefully) minority is really disappointing
Are you suggesting that there is not one single person who hates religious people? All I’m saying is that people should accept other people and leave them to believe what they want to believe. I don’t think any reasonable person would disagree with that freedom
You’re absolutely right. That is a very important distinction to make. One which I think should be more actively emphasised. There are absolutely people who hate people for being religious. Definitely want to clarify to make it clearer what is meant
Obviously I can understand not liking it when people single out one group and ignore another. But am I correct in understanding that you’re saying you like people more for “hating” groups of people who are different to you? Don’t get me wrong, there are without question aspects of certain religions which are harmful. But saying that hating every religious person is a good thing is way over the top. Everyone deserves to be respected and treated well, not hated because of their beliefs.
Well that’s disappointing
I’ve been using it in safari for ages already by just changing my user agent, a feature built into safari (and chrome, but it’s far more difficult to get to. Best just get an extension). For anyone wondering, if you go into Safari settings and enable developer tools, you can just click on the developer menu in Safari and choose edge as your user agent for that session.
That’s ”open dyslexic”. As far as I’m aware, it’s a font specifically designed to be easily readable by dyslexic people
