  • Afaik tiktok also heavily censors topics that are considered bad publicity or whatever. In fact, considering that this self-censor trend (edit: this type of self censor trend that utilizes cutting out vowels instead of using euphemisms or not using the words at all) is much much younger than YouTube or Instagram (at least I noticed it only a few months, maybe one or two years ago) I'd say the American companies weren't even the driving force behind it.

    1. Yes, but devil's advocate: you also need a program to text files, needing a program to read sqlite files is not worse.
    2. I am confused by your requirements. Why do you need to store your data as json or XML? Would it suit your requirements to read in text files, convert to sqlite for processing and then save as a text file? What do you gain by being able to edit the files in a text editor, as opposed to a table editor? Do you maybe just need a config file (e.g. in toml format) and don't actually do much data processing?
  • Obviously from Isengard in the west and Mordor in the east.

(You've been wooooshed, the comment above is an approximate quote from the lort of the rings, when theoden is hesitant to call his men to arms)

    • erneuerbare Energien in Bayern.

  • It depends entirely on how you want to work with the data.

Have you considered sqlite? The database is just a single file, which gives you all the advantages of a text file (easy backup, sharing, easy editing via sqlite browser) while also providing the benefits of SQL when operating on the data (join, etc).

  • We have the internet man, just bug another human and wait a few days to hear back from them.

Like I know that's what you are "supposed" to do. But public money public knowledge, I refuse to accept that this is somehow an acceptable state of things.

  • It provides the capability to authenticate yourself online, e.g. for banking services. It would also be able to prove to a website that you are over 18, without telling the website your birthday. I have yet to use it, but from a technical standpoint it's pretty awesome.

Edit: to clear up some confusion that may exist: as far as I know the app provides the bridge between the chip in the ID card and the application that needs the authentication. No data needs to be stored in the app.

  • Forsén stated in the 2019 documentary film Losing Lena, "I retired from modeling a long time ago. It's time I retired from tech, too... Let's commit to losing me.

    From Wikipedia

She was a paid model, so I don't consider the usage unethical based on that. But I like this comment from a journal:

In today's age of high-resolution digital image technology, it seems difficult to argue that a 512 × 512 image produced with a 1970s-era analog scanner is the best we have to offer as an image quality test standard".

Lmao, they do have a point though!
