  • It's a peaceful life.

  • From my understanding of Japanese law (lol super duper limited), it actually is the case specifically in Japan that they could lose their older IPs, however if they are still in use (banjo kazooie just got a new game in the last few years, right?) then THOSE IPs are safe in terms of maintaining ownership.

In my opinion that's just bullshit, but I do understand the reasoning.

However, if an IP has been abandoned, and no new games are planned, it should be completely fair game.

  • My wife thinks it's too bitter.

Of course, I only tried it originally because TNG, but I liked it from the start.

  • My sweating is genetic, my mother's side of the family is all the same. I sweat at 300 the same as 160.

Working out for health reasons sucks, but if you've got enough reason for it, show that workout who's boss. Spite is as good a reason as any. Staving off diabetes is even better.

  • My dude, I totally appreciate that you're trying to help, and please don't stop encouraging people to work out because it REALLY DOES WORK for most people, but I spent the better part of a decade doing all kinds of things, from yoga to iron man segments, and not a single thing was enjoyable beyond the small amount of satisfaction of having done something hard and finished it.

I dropped 120lbs, and have stayed relatively the same weight since 2015, even with all the other stuff.

So I'm sure I learned more healthy habits, hence the weight being kept off, and I don't regret a second of it, I have no desire to try again.

The only working out now is biking for enjoyment with my wife. And also when she feels the desire to go to the gym, I go with her.

    Jump
  • Oh shit!

  • Me, a few minutes ago: "is it Mythbusters? I bet it's Mythbusters. Mythbusters did this once."

    it's not mythbusters

clicks play to enjoy a new thing

Ooooohhhhh fuck yeah that's the stuff.

    Thanks for the dopamine hit.

  • Damn, I'd pull that thing so hard I might completely snap it off and derail the train. trolley (I can brain)

  • Of all the "fancy" teas, Earl Grey is the best. Anyone who disagrees is simply wrong.

  • In my best bane impression: for you

I never got any "good feelings" from my healthy times. Working out was tiring and a chore. No matter how I worked out, with whom, where, for how long.... No "workout buzz"

I got down to a 7 minute mile. Not amazing or difficult by any stretch, but not one getting there did I ever experience "the runner's high"

Eating well gave me slightly more energy, but not enough to justify the extra cost and time to prepare.

I literally am not capable of "good sleep" without medication, and I can't even afford the medications anymore.

I'll just keep eating whatever I want, only exercising when someone asks me to, and trying to get as much sleep as possible before the sun rises until I hit my (definitely early) grave.

  • Good. Don't be blinded by the tolerance of intolerance.

    Oppose at all points.

The moral high road is filled with corpses.

  • So like... Are people thinking this is serious, and not recognizing the fact that it's pointing out ridiculous arguments that some Bad-faith argumentatives like to make?

I've heard plenty of people in all seriousness say women don't understand the pain of getting hit in the balls, but like... Nobody sane and rational actually believes that.

If you really DO think women, who have ENTIRE HUMANS SHOCED OUT OF THEIR VAGINA, can't understand pain? Yes, getting hit in the balls hurts. I've been hit more times than I care to remember.

If anyone really DOES think women don't get that kind of searing pain, look up "Childbirth perineal tear" and promptly lose all confidence in your argument.

  • Personally, I don't see any deciet here.

Nobody claimed anything, someone just went around asking questions. Personally I wouldn't care if a red hat came into my Cafe and asked questions like that, and I would give my very strong opinions exactly as I would to anyone else. If they said a republican was about to come in for a PR stunt, I would ask to speak to the owner, and if they're actually cool with that the they have lost my business.

I still wouldn't feel like the person who came in was being in nay way subversive.

Honestly if I ran across one of their candidates alone in the middle of the night I might feel the urge to deck them whether I act on it or not, but that exact thing is the reason they should go without stating the reason for the questions and visit fist thing. What if someone were just psychotic and armed? They could quite easily pretend to be the world's largest supporter in order to get a seat at the next table over for a better shot, instead of the scout saying "that guy in the corner gave strange vibes, better put extra security over there or pass on this one"

Or someone might start throwing shoes...

  • Why would you ever make a plan when you make the subconscious assumption that everyone operates around what you want?

Because their whole life has been geared toward allowing them to believe they are entitled to everything.

As always, calling others "entitled" was pure projection.

  • When I worked at a store that sold guns in 2016, supposedly there was a chance that a certain oddly-colored cheeto would be making a PR appearance after a speech in town.

I straight up told my manager if they actually think it's a real possibility then I will not be returning to work after my lunch break. I don't think for a second my threat actually made a difference, but I'd like to think my manager and district manager would take their ONLY trained tech for their most profitable services in 8 states and risk them leaving over a PR stunt they know will piss off half the people who shop there.

However when one of the red hats found out that the district manager called corporate to say it wasn't a good idea, they quit. Granted, nobody cared since it was their first week, but I know they were talking about being desperate for work they were qualified for that won't do a background check. So they quit over stupid shit when they apparently needed the money.

Logic is not strong with that crowd.

  • Which they and every other gaming company have tried to kill at one point or another, and I fully expect them to try again next Gen. They probably hope that the people who pay attention and care are getting older and won't make as much of a fuss as we did with the last three generations.

  • Barring me from getting old games in a modern platform will not stop me from playing old games on a modern platform.

The sooner they realize that and plan accordingly by releasing their old catalogs for appropriate pricing, the sooner they will get what they want and piracy and emulation will plummet.

When people have a cheap and easy way of doing something without wondering if they're about to get SWATed, they're way more likely to actually do that.

  • Every time I hear Nintendo issues another C&D, I have a new emulator to download before they get forcibly taken down.

    It's 100% the streisand effect.

"Oh you're whining about another small group of people passionate about your past games? Well let me pile onto your woes. Asshole."

I do not understand how one company can have so much dedication from fans while simultaneously despising them.

If YOU aren't going to offer a 100% obviously and clearly above board, legal, safe, option for games anymore, someone else WILL and you get absolutely nothing from it.

And I also don't understand why a company with no intention of ever selling something again still has the ability to sue people while claiming lost revenue. Get fucked, and stop bitching. It just makes me never want to buy Nintendo products ever again.

But that won't stop me from playing Nintendo products.
