It isn't preemptive to see cops as our enemy, for they're already taught to view the public as an enemy. The reform we need isn't even what gets discussed by anybody who wants to "work" with police.
Public safety needs to be gutted and rebuilt from the ground up, with cops only handling situations where someone might need to die. There is no non-lethal violence. Any instance of cops using any form of violence carries the risk of someone dying. We shouldn't expect them to be anything but violence machines; a last resort to any issue, not part of a front line.
If their unions don't hate you, you're never gonna actually accomplish anything. It's not a good strategy to ally with people who get upset at being anti-cop. In the US, politicians who say "fuck the police" are better off than any respectability politician. We've heard nothing but meaningless platitudes for years, and people are tired of it. The "safe" politicians have provided no safety, and people are too scared to trust them any longer.

If someone who was depressed for 23 years can do it, it should be possible for anyone. I won't lie and say it will ever be easy, so don't worry if you think you can't do it.
I also won't claim that it's possible in every environment. If you are in a shit situation, it just might not be possible. However, any situation can change, for better and worst. If the world won't let you be happy, you have nothing to lose but your chains.
Loving one's self might just be the hardest thing a person can do, as it isn't one and done. However, it does get easier.
Astolfo is a femboy icon, and while there's nothing wrong with being a femboy, the community does skew younger. At a certain age, it gets awkward to call yourself a boy or girl, as our bodies naturally mature. It has a lot to do with the loss of youth, and the shame that comes with it.
Teachers are expected to be more "grown-up or mature," with them using cute characters coming across as out of touch. It gets awkward when teachers break that perception, like they're trying to be someone they can't.
If the teacher doesn't know who Astolfo is, they seem even more out of touch than if it's a cute girl character; a "how do you do fellow kids?" moment. If the teacher is aware and intentionally represents themselves as a femboy, it still breaks the view students have of teachers as mature. It would be abnormal instead of immoral, but that alone is risky if a conservative catches wind of it.

I was honestly surprised by the ban. Elong hadn't even been in charge long enough to account for the change entirely. I wasn't even being that hostile, just tearing into them like I do here when people spout bs. They just reported me because I made them look like fools.
I felt similar about Musk buying Twitter. I created an account for the first time after never wanting to use the app before, just so I could watch shit go down. I got banned for dunking on transphobes after a few months 🤣
Other people aren't going to RedNote for political reasons. I'm not going to RedNote because I was never into TikTok.
I'm barely into YouTube, and I have no desire to jump back into short form algorithm driven stuff after a decade away from that noise. Deleting most socials as teen was the correct move. I only missed out on connecting with people I already knew.
Feeds are the bane of my existence. I don't even look at my Lemmy feed. Instead, I check on individual communities and sort by new. Communities being smaller is an advantage for me.
I was just mopping about the whole situation with her and Cobain. Here you have this talented, autistic, heteroflexible musician, lovingly married to this other talented queer musician, and people blame her for Kurt's death because they needed to blame someone. They couldn't just pay their respects and admit that they didn't understand. They can't accept that nobody needs to be blamed, with themselves and society as a whole being the only force that deserves any of it, if only for making such an unsupportive world for people like Cobain and Love.
This is unironically my dog. She's cunning and intelligent, capable of complex deception and problem-solving to get what she wants. We really can't prevent her from escaping the yard or getting stuff she shouldn't, only convince her it isn't worth it. At the same time, her recklessness and independent streak has almost gotten her killed on multiple occasions. She's territorial and hierarchical with other dogs, bullying those twice her size because she has the strength and agility to back it up. She's incredibly spoiled, jealously trying to prevent family members from displaying physical affection. If the princess finds it too hot, cold, or wet outside, she'll poop in the house because she knows it doesn't bother us as much as when she pees.
Despite being a truly bizarre looking brat, she's still super loving and sweet. She is very friendly with people when we're in public, letting kids pet her with little issue. She might not be fluffy, but she is cuddly. She's a hard worker who loves to please us more than anything. She'd probably fight a panther to protect us. We didn't believe it at first when we were told she was the sweetest mutt from her litter, but we now know they were telling the truth.
She doesn't really have a brow, so her eyes bulge out of her skull. She can't see or smell well, but she has excellent hearing thanks to her enormous ears. She's constantly anxious and super expressive, capable of understanding our speech and attempts human vocalizations when excited enough. She moves and acts like a cat, cleaning herself well enough to not stink after a year without a bath or playing with her prey by batting with her paws. I've never seen another dog like her. She's one of a kind 💖
