Installation files not required in my device?

Hi guys! I have a question. In the wiki for my device installation there is no information about some files that are in the downloads page, like dbto.img and vbmeta.img. If they are not required to install lineageos on my device, why are they in the downloads page?

No power management option in BIOS at all

Hi guys, I bought a cheap LGA 1155 MB with Intel H61 chipset to build a home server but I can't find any power management or AC option to make the PC restart after a power shortage. The BIOS is a American Megatrends 2.15.36. O went through all the menus, the manual shows an option that is not present anywhere. I went to my parents house for the holidays and, guess what? Power went down in my house. Now I'm 300km away from the power button and all my media, music and files are unavailable.

TLDR: does anyone know if I can have access to power management options if I update this machine bios? I'm on Linux, so another complexity layer to update the bios.. Is it worth the trial, after holydays of course?

Lost Internet after an update
  • Hey man I have no idea if it is the same, I'm a noon, but I had issues with a kernel update recently with my Debian home server and lost Ethernet too. I couldn't fix but I reverted the kernel update and voila my ethernet started working again. If this bothers you and like me you don't have much knowledge years you could try that .

  • dd: disk destroyer
  • Yeah once I forgot I had an external drive on one of the USB ports on my PC and created an Ubuntu drive with dd and just sent it do /dev/sdb ..lost all movies I had on it. After that I always check with df -h or fdisk -l

  • [SliceOfLife] Doing updates today
  • Hey just passing to say I saw your post and decided to update my Debian server ...took me an hour to find that the rtl driver just stopped working and I had to revert to older kernel..never done it before haha..

  • Many will be triggered
  • Same for me..I'm a totally different person because I found Linux..If I had found it earlier maybe I would pursuit an IT career but I'm still glad to have a hobby that fulfill my hunger for knowledge and I have a lot of fun tinkering and playing with Linux
