😅 Oh man, that's my bad. I'm so used to Reddit that I was positive I knew what kind of post this was. I still maintain my point, but that was a stupid reaction on my part
I mean obviously, I'm just expressing bewilderment that the Wii version happens to be the only survivor.
lol, you couldn't make it one sentence without randomly bringing Trump into this. Are you scared RFK is gonna make you illegal? I'm not reading the rest of that, go touch grass
🤓 nobody was talking to you, chief
🤓 You sure like spotting things, granny
Why, of all things, is it a fucking wii build?
Please share with the class why this comment made you think of terrorism, my totally healthy and mentally sound educated man
No one gives a fuck about "the points", when are you people going to figure that out? You are the ones harming people by trying to dismiss necessary behavioral changes and real advice because there are technically other factors that you can back up with OODLES OF PEER-REVIEWED STUDIES, HOW CAN YOU INSULT MY INTELLIGENCE LIKE THIS???? No one cares what you studied while knocking out gen ed requirements, get over yourself.
You're not in high school debate class anymore, you're among people seeking and sharing knowledge that can be of actual use to them. If you're gonna pretend you're in someone's corner and shield them from a false sense of blame, and then REFUSE to discuss actual, meaningful solutions, you are utterly worthless in spaces like this.
I'm sorry you guys are getting so much pushback here, lol. I was hoping Lemmy would have less... "Reddit" problems, but the number of dislikes and comments here tells me there's still a LOT of pedantic, self-deluded, minimally educated, credential-worshiping fatties in denial within our community. It's too bad so many give in to their emotions without practicing REAL rationality these days, it sounds like both Lemmy AND these people could really benefit from that ability.
I've never understood these serrated hawk bill knives, what do you use them for?

BUT, this combination of form and features is EXACTLY what I've been looking for (with a tip-up clip, that is) in a daily carry folder. Drones in general are undoubtably changing the landscape, but attributing this to VR because of fpv specifically is a stretch. You could remove fpv entirely and it wouldnt change much.
Stop coping already, it's embarrassing. VR isn't "changing" anything. VR porn isn't "changing sex", and FPV displays for drones aren't "changing war".
Listen, it's okay that we bought into an over-hyped and ultimately useless tech gimmick that was genuinely fun and exciting for a time. But it does no one any good to constantly try to validate it with this level of inflated importance.
No, it wasn't. I just bought one and still needed a Meta account. Where are you getting this bullshit, stop it
Great, more prohibitively expensive, feature-stripped, mobile phone based VR slop with proprietary app stores.
Isn't that more of a flatscreen thing?
This information is shockingly hard to find, and redditors are as confidently, vigorously clueless and unhelpful as always.
A lot of VR mods for flatscreen games are pretty lazily thrown together, so it's on the user to configure everything correctly. There has to be a general recommended number for first person games on the Quest 3's display, right?
So the "turn off disks after" setting was already set, and USB selective suspend already disabled, BUT those are apparently overridden for USB connected drives if the "Allow the computer to turn off this device" box is checked for that USB hub in Windows Device Manager (Power Management tab).
All of those had defaulted to 'on' since I upgraded my mobo, so I think I've got it now.
I have a full sized HDD in a USB 3 dock, and my power settings inactive timer is set to 300 minutes. This doesn't appear to be applying to the docked HDD, as it spins down in about 5 minutes or less. It takes forever to spin back up when I access it, so how can I change this?
I'm trying to use Virtual Desktop with a Quest 3 and want to skip Steam VR wherever humanly possible. Problem is, this isn't possible most of the time because I can't install the Oculus app, which is supposedly required to use the xr runtime and avoid going through Steam.
The oculusSetup.exe installer crashers before showing any UI on my system (Win10 Home x64), making installation impossible. This occurred both before and after upgrading my motherboard, Intel CPU, and ram kit. I've gone through a laundry list of advanced troubleshooting over the past month or so, and I won't get into that here.
Instead, I'm really hoping there is a way to run PCVR games/apps through VD with openxr runtimes that DON'T rely on running SteamVR (for performance/latency reasons), WITHOUT needing to install the actual Oculus app on my PC.
I found a solution myself, if anyone else is wondering.
There's an easier way to get the same effect: Shift-Click your cell(s) and drag where you want it/them, then hold Alt before releasing to drop it in place and auto re-order the column.
Oh no, we're on it for the same reasons. I honestly would be willing to shill the doubled price point of a PCVR headset, but ALL of them (excluding the massively overpriced) have shit-tier displays compared to the Quest 3, which is why I can't quite justify it yet. Of course, if Meta wasn't selling at a loss it wouldn't even be a question, just fuck them.
Not much else to say. At the least I want the ability to cut one cell and then CTRL+"+" it elsewhere in the column. I used to be able to reorder items in a column like this without leaving a blank cell where I cut from, but Calc doesn't do this.
REALLY wish Valve would just upgrade their display. Would help if peripheral headset companies weren't price gouging out the ass for worthless gimmicks.

(Event log details at the end) Trying to run OculusSetup.exe from the Meta website seems to be impossible on my home PC, as the installer hard crashes before any UI is even shown.
As expected, Meta support is completely and utterly fucking worthless. All they know how to do is email you the basic instructions already on their worthless ass website.
I am running Windows 10 x64 Home, and can be bothered to provide further tech specs if someone provides a specific reason for needing them. I also have Avast AV installed, but completely uninstalling and rebooting made absolutely no difference in outcome or error output.
No, I am not open to reinstalling Windows.
Running the installer results in 3 administrative error events :
