That's how it works. Imported products will be much expensive and local products will be able to compete and people will buy them instead of the ones coming from China.

That is the theory, but are there local products for the things that the US is importing? I don't think so. Also local companies may just align their prices with the imported stuff.

Where did you see that? Even if it is the case isn't that just censorship which the subject of this post to which I am responding? There were no discussion or anything and ban you from the whole instance (not just the community).

If I am a nazi then the whole planet is. I am from left and hate rich people. I was just expressing my view of how my country is letting people who can't integrate to the society live in. Some people get citizenship when they have extreme views about womens and do not let their works when trying to get them welfare for not working.

I am not against welfare or immigration but the people will let in should benefit the society and not the opposite. If you check Switzerland, Japan, Nordic countries which have good immigration policies, the quality of life is way better. They do still have issues but not related to immigration.

Censorship still exists in lemmy. I got banned from an instance just because I said some things that weren't aligning with far left ideas. I was one of the active members of that instance (we were very few) on non political communities.

I made a political post and one of the administrators wasn't OK with it and started insulting me and then banned me from the whole instance.

Many rich people are "donating" to avoid paying taxes and it another way for marketing. You are the proof of that, you are defending and promoting her.

I thought food is way cheaper in the US but considering the taxes and tip, the prices seems similar to Europe.

What type of cake are we talking here? Industrial or home baked? Also what size? I am talking about a cake of 6 portion of around 200g.

I was raised poor so even now that I can afford it, I feel something forbidding me from buying cake. That and knowing that I gain weight very easily and it takes me lots of hours to get raid of it.

I was watching the show Good Times about the struggle of poor black family. But after some episodes I felt it wasn't realistic and the family isn't really poor.

People always says AI do create only variations but many successful TV shows are variations. I started watching sitcoms from the 70s and many things were copied/adapted in recent shows.

Yes I know but the French gouvernement passed many laws not in favor of employees. There were strikes for months but the gouvernement didn't listen and police was beating people.

Now an employer can fire you because of race / sexual orientation... Etc. You can win if you went into trial but the employer may pay just few hundreds euros because there is a limit that caps how much the employer will pay.

I know that but the gouvernement could passes law and unions couldn't do nothing about it (that's what happen when a gouvernement uses force instead of dialogue). In the recent years the French gouvernement passed many laws that weakened employees rights. Do you know that if you go into court against your employer and you win, you will just get few hundred euros? It won't ever cover for lawyer expenses. That's because a law was to max the amount you can and it is very low.
