  • It's actually insane how many teachers and other education professionals waved me off with 'you're smart enough, just try harder' while I was obviously suicidally depressed and extremely dysfunctional. Having undiagnosed autism because I was a teenage girl in the '00s was fun.

  • Not literally that many beers, but the equivalent in other types of alcohol, for sure. The trick is to use a fuckton of amphetamines so you don't notice how drunk you are so you can extra destroy your body and brain. But nothing the multivitamin can't fix!

  • John the Enterprise

    The John Enterprise

    The John millenium falcon

    And that's John it

    It has John shields

    It's John biased John

Yeah this makes sense to you? No it >!John!< doesn't

  • I've had one of my cats for only half a year and he needed to be socialized because he used to be a stray for about a year. He still gets scared and bolts every time I sneeze if he's sitting next to me, lmao.

  • My pharmacy is ridiculously short-staffed because of summer, so they're only open for 3 hours in the afternoon. But because everyone is calling in those 3 hours, it's so busy you don't even get put on hold, it just says the wait time is too long and to email them and hangs up, lmao.

  • And you and kids are still gonna die from the effects of climate change and the collapse of society because a handful of billionaires and corporations only care about making more money next quarter in spite of every single other human being on the planet.

  • Even if your particular house is in a safe location, you're still fucked from all the other houses being flooded and burned down because that means disastrous effects on global supply chains including food and a massive refugee crisis the likes of which the world has literally never seen.

  • It's country specific. They were discontinued only in the US, but they still operate in multiple European countries, and in my experience like 70% of households here in the Netherlands have one of those things.

  • Same here. I have neither the religion of the germanic peoples who 'invented' Christmas nor the religion of the ones who incorporated it later (or any), but I can appreciate lights, warmth and people who are important to you getting together at a time of the year when it's cold and grey and dark for 16 hours a day. That's why and how the winter solstice was originally celebrated and I get that.

  • Ikea

    Jump
  • It isn't. I have a bunch of ikea furniture because I'm not really settled in where I live, so it's nice and easy and lightweight to take apart and move every 3 years. For one, it absolutely isn't that expensive, and it's pretty good quality. My oldest pieces are two kallax units that were already second hand when I bought them 6 years ago, and they're still in the exact same condition as when I bought them, even through 3 moves. The only thing I'm disappointed about are a couple of wooden folding chairs because the horizontal slats tend to get loose and fall out, but you can just pop them back in in 5 seconds. It's obviously not as good as high quality non-ikea furniture, but if you (have to) move often and don't have much money, it's just a good and practical choice.

  • So in my country there's this weird little childrens song that ends with the main character dying because he choked to death on a fish bone (don't ask, I don't know either). With my autistic ass taking taking everything so literal and seriously, I've had a huge fear of choking on fish bones ever since I was a kid. Luckily I've been a vegetarian for 14 years so it hasn't been a problem for a long time, but I used to hate eating fish with bones still in it, yeah.

  • Damn that explains why I was diagnosed at 20. It wasn't because women in autism is severely underdiagnosed, it was because I had only recently gotten it by diligently voting in every election since turning 18! 😫

  • It's my daily driver on my phone. I have Firefox on desktop, but back when I wanted a more privacy focused browser on my phone too, mobile Firefox was still dogshit. I got vivaldi instead and haven't really felt the need to switch.
