  • Just wanted to leave an update, she is doing much better after meeting with the remaining LGBTQ organization members. We've been able to donate some money (somewhat difficult) for food and resources and they're working together to figure out a long term plan for employment. Thanks again everyone.

  • Damn, I'm sorry to hear. I have a friend who works for a smaller bakery and I think she would agree with you.

I guess getting your co-workers together could be your last resort if you're on the edge of quitting already. I feel you about the NPC mode, I could never do it at my job either, even the most mindless of tasks can be enjoyable with just some chatter and camaraderie. I hope the situation improves, and if not, I'm sure you'll find somewhere not so soul crushing.

  • I just quit my job, I probably shouldn't have but I couldn't justify working there anymore to myself. I'm not sure if it was the right choice but once I hit my breaking point being there was torturous.

Is that where you're at with this place? It sounds like you enjoy the job, it's just this manager that is making your life hell for really no reason. Do you think there's anyway to get them off your back?

  • It seems that way, she was helping organize the Transgender Visibility march with Transforma and it was shuttered this year due to funding. The Skopje Queer Center told her that due to funding cuts that they were no longer able to offer the services she was using.

What she sent me this morning was: "If possible, ask her if she knows any trans people from here, or groups of trans people, or perhaps small unknown political groups of queer people, nowadays we are no longer able to rely on the organizations and have to rely on ourselves, but if we fail to organize and make friends then we're all pretty much alone. :("

  • Sorry about work, I definitely feel you. The activist groups that she was in contact with have mostly disbanded so I think so, she's looking for some kind of guidance. She mostly stays on reddit and she wasn't receptive to making an account here. Thank you Kristina, I greatly appreciate it.
