Could we end the complimentary coffee maybe, 4 minutes earlier??
Didn't say anyone could be the president of the US. There's a whole world out there
Domino's is literally the only fast food place I eat from. So I say domino's. Although even that means 2-3 times a year at most
Weekly, both. Mostly
I do it at 180, easy to get it out of the pan
Strawberry works, but you've said that already. I believe banana is used in some Nordic country too (not 100% about this)
No, 'mom' is speechless. You really aren't caught up here now are you
So what youre sating is ... Actions speak louder than words?
So what youre saying is ... Actions speak louder than words?
Haven't read the article, but this is both funny and ragebait
Why Theory brings continental philosophy and psychoanalytic theory together to examine cultural phenomena.
Why theory is omaybe my favourite podcast and I just had to share this. A very academic approach to their analysis and heavily focus on psychoanalysis.
Exploring the classical horror film in terms of the antagonism between life and the beyond, inclusive of death. They focus on the films The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Frankenstein, Invisible Man, Godzilla, and Psycho.
Give this a go, its definitely worth a listen!
Partially. Partially it's the fact that Madrid as a club are hated for being powerful. And vini is the kind of player no defense wants to face. The kind of player who'll humiliate defenders and cause chaos. And once it started and crowds managed to get a reaction out of him, crowds across the country realised they can rile him up now. Also they don't like him for talking against Spain and their clubs and fanbases.
There's quite a few factors at play
Everyone hates vini in Spain, there's always whistles, booing, insults and racist chants. Always.
It'll work out, Madrid have been reliant on left wing overloads for over a decade now. The reason it looks bad is the lack of the quarterback Kroos. The buildup and on the ball system has been ripped to shreds. Hes the biggest loss since Ronaldo and perhaps even more difficult to cover for on the short term.
4 year tenures in the top 10.. Managerial cycles are getting really short now.
But atleast there's a new crop of managers coming through and I suspect we'll have a few long term appointments now.
Kompamy imo (I know this is an unpopular opinion), Arteta, Slot is unlikely simply bc the person that comes in to fill big boots and doesn't live up to their success is a failure no matter if its reasonable or not. A few in Spain look set for the long term.
I'd say Ange but he has outgrown Tottenham. Xabi has similarly outgrown Bayer.
I should post there a lot more
!shortstories@literature.cafe is also an important community on the host instance and has a decent base by now.
I'm just happy its on a relevant instance since it would've been much easier to grow it on lemmy.world but I didn't want another Lemmy.world community
!aneurysmposting@sopuli.xyz has been growing steadily whether I post or not. Its now a decent size and I haven't checked but I think more relevant on Lemmy than don't dead open inside which would be the closest comparison.
Also a community that came through organically on Lemmy and not an import from the other site!
Well I'm Asian so maybe it's a cultural thing. But I'm my parents retirement plan. I'm guessing the same goes for you. Its the same sending money back home for all Asians.
This is a villanelle I wrote about how terrified I've been as I enter adulthood while my parents age. Its one of the most personal things I've ever written.
The Villanelle is my favourite form in poetry and the themes of this poem are what I explored in my first ever poem too.
That combination kimd of makes this my favourite poem ever. Despite this not being a very typical Sylvia Plath poem as it is much more personal than most of her works.
Upon the hill, a tower stands, With iron roots deep in the lands, Its shadow creeps, it grows, it twists, A looming giant in the mists.
The flame once bright upon its peak, Now flickers, faint, forlorn, and weak. The hands that fed it, turned to stone, The whispers cold, a heavy throne.
Beneath the sky of ash and rain, The iron gates now seal the plain, The fields once green, the rivers wide, Lie chained beneath a tyrant's stride.
The flame once bright upon its peak, Now flickers, faint, forlorn, and weak. The heart that held the sacred spark, Lies shattered in the rising dark.
A crown of glass, a sword of gold, Promised warmth, yet left us cold. The echoes of a father’s cry, Now fill the air where spirits fly.
The flame once bright upon its peak, Now flickers, faint, forlorn, and weak. The father's hands, the tower's stone, One crushed beneath, the other grown.
But in the dark, a spark may rise, A hidden ember in disguise. Though towers fall and kings may burn, The flame will find its time to turn.
The flame once bright upon its peak, Now flickers, faint, forlorn, and weak. Yet from the dust, a new fire’s glow, Shall burn where shadows dared to grow.
New to this, would love any and all feedback, particularly any critique. Thank you.
