Diplomatic ties entail cooperation and a relationship between two states that facilitiates, among other things, trade and transport agreements and citizen travel between the two states. This is diplomacy 101. That said, it should not be hard to understand why having diplomatic ties to a settler-colonial entity counts as support for the genocide of the Palestinians.
