ZERO SIEVERT (Steam)

I'm bending rule 4, because the official 1.0 release is announced for less than 1 month from now.

ZERO Sievert is a tense top-down extraction shooter that challenges you to scavenge a procedurally-generated wasteland, loot gear, and explore what’s left of a devastated world. When the odds are stacked against you, you’ll need to do more than just survive.

I've played through it a 2nd time recently, it's a fun solo experience, the difficulty is largely customizable, the different zones feel unique, lots to explore, even just a little morality testing on some quests. Decent enemy variety, the guns generally feel different, and different ammo types do matter. Skill will take you far, and carelessness, even in the easy areas, will be punished.

I write these words in steel, for anything not set in metal cannot be trusted.

I trust someone who's better with puns and all the latest politics than I to do it justice, but I feel like there's a rendition of "Brave Sir Robin" as "Brave Sir Orange" that could be quite good.

They do, but unfortunately, they're radicalized nutjobs, so they aren't much of an option now...

My wife has a NordicTrack bike, it auto adjusts resistance and incline. Insane people would pay more and not even get that.

I've been using the Zelotes C-10 (wired for my desktop) and F-17 (wireless for work laptop), when they say vertical, they mean it. Anecdotally, it has helped with my wrist pains. I also wanted the extra buttons on the C-10, so I could map them for gaming (I also use a Razer Tartarus for my left hand for gaming).

I used a Nexus (nxstek.com) for years and it still worked great, only replaced it when I switched to a vertical mouse for wrist ergo, now my wife still uses, and it's the mouse that's lasted her the longest (she's hard as fuck on mice for some reason). I'd suggest you check out the SM-8000B from them.

Annual Wealth Tax 1% on total assets over 10M, additional 1% over 100M, additional 1% over 1B, etc etc. Raises along with inflation or something.

Without disputing that there were a lot of fuckups, this feels like a kind of pointless article given the uncle called 10 minutes after the shooter was shot by police, not sure there was much he could have done at that point.

Some of us play XCOM, 95% chance to hit might as well be 0% when you need 100%, usually means it's time for a grenade.

It is was probably transferred from his ear to chin/cheek by something like the floor, his hand or SS. That'd explain why there isn't a trail and it appears blotchy.

Those style of maps make the gameplay into a frenzy, turns the twitch shooting skill requirement up, drops the tactical planning.

I think the bad logic here is that the more sites there are the more likely one of them is improperly follow procedures.

The real surprise to me is not the software, company or OS issues, but rather so many companies just blindly pushing untested updates to their prod environments, this was and will continue to be a risk associated with anything they do trust so implicitly. Feels like the security folks just totally failed Dev 101.

I never said it was impossible, just that one subset of the voting population was likely larger than another. Obama getting elected didn't end racism, it was just a victory in spite of it. Honestly, part of the rise of White Nationalism might even be attributable to his election, making racism worse.

Why is race a topic? Because there's a bunch of voting idiots who make their choice based on it. If the candidate doesn't bring other votes with them somehow, it just makes it that much harder.

The sad honest truth is probably that there are more bigoted people out there that won't vote for a Dem if it isn't a white guy than people who would add votes to one who isn't, particularly in swing states. Maybe I'm too cynical...

As for replacements, even the people who some polls show as being slightly more popular than Biden haven't been through anywhere near as much of a dedicated smear campaign as he has, and if they were, we don't know how they'd poll.

At its core, I think it's basically just the Trolley Problem. Some people would rather passively support a worse situation rather than actively support a better but bad situation.

I went back and forth on it. The campaign is just the meta progression, the missions are the randomized element. Comparing to Darkest Dungeon for example, it's really similar in structure.

Official Act to lockup the fascists as domestic terrorists, then bow out of the race.
