Updating pirated games has been possible for years, also unlocking DLC and pre-release content.
The only thing that can't be done is playing in official servers (for obvious reasons).

Just to add a little in favor on fansubs, sometimes they add a little spice like animating the lyrics of the intro, changing the font or style depending on who is talking or how are they talking and adding little details like explanations about the words, poses or context.
If small fansub groups who survive on donations can do that, I would demand the same level of commitment from a big company like crunchy roll or Netflix if they want my money.

And the spanish version is usually from spain so I have to go down a fucking rabbit hole trying to find the latinamerican spanish version (es-419) even for the subs.

Not quite, I'm mexican, not from the USA and it's the same thing, we are being stripped from our rights, censored and constantly bombarded by propaganda because those who could have done something (example: punish those in power who were breaking the law) didn't do anything.
Civilians were protesting but they were ignored so... Here we are, having a shitload of political parties is pointless since the voters gave practically absolute power to one.

It's only effective because those who could do something didn't do shit for one reason or the other.

I was looking how to autologin on an old laptop that is used as a media player on my tv, followed the instructions but turns out thay whole section of the settings is missing for some reason.
Had to look wtf and turns out there's a fix but it requires me sitting and taking my time with it (which I won't have for a while), nobody else can do it but it bothers me to no end... Why the fuck did it happened in the first place? How can it's own installer miss things?

Which one of those is closer to what Telegram brings to the table?
Mostly pretty stuff like gifs/mp4/webm with alpha, stickers, animated stickers and handling things like webp/webm, self-destructing multimedia, chats that dissapear after X time, sending huge files, the option to send something as a file if it can't be played internally, a desktop version that I can use simultaneusly... maybe groups and channels too, adding people by alias instead of phone number (maybe qr, but not a huge link like the one SimpleX uses).

You know, things that could help me to bring my "friends" and family on board or at least to give it a try.
