You should learn the difference between lacking empathy and reserving it for people that aren't bigots.
Speaking of interesting, you should read up on the paradox of tolerance. It's very enlightening stuff! Thanks for sharing your perspective!
How's the view from your high horse?
I've learned that trying to take the high road with people that revel in bigotry and corruption is a fruitless endeavor. I'm done being naive and giving them the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps that's because I live in the real world and actually deal with these people, rather than the pontificating about the intellectual concept of these people.
They'd be quicker to believe that tbh. Anything that lets them shirk all accountability for their own actions and justify their bigotry. Your facts << their feelings because skydaddy told them they're special and he's got it all under control.
Nah, if you're so unhinged that you're making death threats simply because someone referenced objective and observable scientific facts that your warped fairy tale reality doesn't let you accept, there's no "once you cut through all your regressive, batshit beliefs, we're really the same". There's no reasoning with them because the delusion (e.g. "owning the libs") is their whole identity.
There was a meteorologist in the US, in Nebraska iirc, that resigned a couple of months ago after receiving death threats for daring to mention climate change during his weather report. They're fucking unhinged.
Scummy crypto exchange as middle men
And you think the companies charging exorbitant fees to remit money aren't scummy? Crypto has its myriad issues, but remittance is one rock-solid example of it disrupting an egregiously predatory industry in a very positive way.
It's nice that you were able to enjoy it. No one can invalidate your enjoyment. But for me, it was a shameless capitalisation of characters I'd grown to love. A decision driven purely by money, quality and coherency be damned. The cinematography got sterile and lost the gritty, almost horror-film-esque feel of the earlier seasons; the storylines got goofy, Jared Padalecki's acting somehow got progressively worse; and worst of all, the show got the most cliched, predictable, fan-service ending imaginable. Those last 10 seasons felt like a bad fanfic brought to screen.
Fortunately, because season 5 was supposed to be the end, it works as a natural jumping off point. I can just pretend everything after that doesn't exist.
The definitive answer is Supernatural. Shambled on for another 10 seasons as the reanimated husk of a really good that was written to end after season 5.
But if you can't fix problems that my arise don't use Linux.
But I thought tenant #1 of the cult of Linux was that Linux is always superior to Windows and everyone should be pushed to use it, no matter what?
Yes, but the vast majority of android phones get 2, maybe 3 if you're lucky, and on the budget market you're lucky if you get 2.
Both is the real answer.
Brave has its own issues, and it seems like new controversies are popping up every day or two, but you can disable those ads in settings. Or at least you could back when I used it.
That's just an ADHD thing. They can do a line of coke and all it does it allow them to feel like they don't have ADHD for a little while.
The battery is only one piece of the puzzle. If the EU wants to really reduce e-waste they should also mandate a minimum of 4 years of android security updates, preferably 5 or 6.
The Kbin PWA is fine, but the native apps really give Lemmy a leg up. There are some genuinely fantastic apps like Connect and Liftoff that Kbin can't match right now.
The UI for both is just reddit. And Kbin has a PWA that functions like a native app. The only issue I've found (on my phone at least), is some formatting issues with certain buttons.
If you want to check them out on mobile, just pin the mobile website to your home screen (use brave or Firefox or some other ad-blocking browser because fuck Reddit), and set up the RSS feed for notifications.
