Iran’s Khamenei slams ‘criminal’ Israel for killing Hezbollah’s Nasrallah
  • I can say a lot of things about how this take makes 0 sense, but first can I remind you that 9/11 was 20 years ago? Everyone who could legally vote at that time is at least 40 now. A good third of the US wasn't even born yet.

  • USA approves $8.7bn aid package for Israel
  • Yes, exactly. Support for their defense is the same as support for their offense from a simple economic point of view. Your logic stops working when trying to wipe a small country's worth of people out.

  • USA approves $8.7bn aid package for Israel
  • To object to this is to leave the citizens of Isreal defenseless.

Israel legally can't get any US aid or arms. Period. It's not ambiguous and maybe if they're left defenseless they'll consider maybe treating the people they're oppressing as... people.

  • Israel accused of breaking global labor law by withholding Palestinian worker pay
  • It seems relatively minor because we have 1.5 genocides going on at the moment, but when people don't have money, they starve, and Israel has succeeded in turning West Bankers into wage slaves depending on their money. The post-2005 Gaza-Israel conflict was originally caused by the Israeli blockade (which, contrary to popular knowledge, came before any terror attacks, because it happened at the same time as the withdrawal). Just because they're not lobbing rockets doesn't mean this isn't an atrocity that will cause damage for decades to come; remember 200k people is a little under 10% of the West Bank's population. Not working population, just the whole population.

  • Israeli Minister of Education Suggests Lebanon Will Be “Annihilated”
  • I mean you can look at this:

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_under_Muslim_rule

The Middle East was, as I said before, a safe haven for Jews who suffered from persecution in Europe for most of history. There were instances of persecution, but what was considered normal in Christian Europe was much more of an exception in the Muslim world.

  • “Hell Is Breaking Loose in Lebanon”: Israel Rejects Ceasefire Proposal
  • Not to defend them, but Hezbollah attacked them one day after October 7th (so October 8th) in support of Hamas, which marked the start of the current round of violence. Israel widely escalated that with the pager attack which Hezbollah responded to with a bunch of rockets and then this happened. So: Opposed Israel's genocide with military action.

  • Israeli Minister of Education Suggests Lebanon Will Be “Annihilated”
  • I mean yes, but what I'm trying to say is that antisemitism wasn't constant and came and went with time and place, like any other kind of xenophobia (or less so, because Jews and other people of the book are guaranteed civil rights in the Quran). Jews, as a rule, could live normal lives with no or minimal segregation under Muslim rule and the middle east was historically a safe haven for Jews fleeing persecution in Europe. It was, simply put, nothing like the region today or Europe historically.
