It's a disgrace - but only because the system is so messed up. I'm old enough to own my own house but my kids probably never will unless they live with me well into their 30s and save like crazy. My generation and those before me have screwed up the housing market.
It's not stolen, it's 'stolen'.
Try Card View Switcher. It's combined with search so you don't get overwhelmed if you have thousands of files in your vault.
I can second this. Digital systems always felt like I was managing the system somehow, whatever it was. They always felt delicate, as if I had to do things a certain way. Paper journaling over the last couple of years has felt so much easier by comparison. I was going through my to-do list yesterday and I just suddenly realised I wasn't even thinking about the system - I was just doing the work. I still work within Obsidian - my resources and annotations and notes are all still in there - but the basics of 'knowing what to do next' are on paper again.
It jumps?!?!
I mean, they're kinda right. Taking money out of society to give to the rich isn't socialism.
It's so hard to know where to even start. Say one thing and it's like you have to go right back to the basics of how money, capitalism and society work. Nuanced conversation is Impossible.
God didn't make yeast?
Does anyone else use the Spaced Repetition plugin?
I'm still trying to figure out the 'base ease' setting. I find the gap between reviews is often larger than I would like. Would making the 'base ease' setting larger make the gap between reviews bigger or smaller? I can't seem to find the answer on the plugin's algorithm explanation page.
Same here. Really hoping the non-lemmy-focus communities can start to get more active now that the commotion is settling down a bit.
Not sure if I'm excited by more people I know joining the fediverse or worried about Meta being such an awful company and about to dominate ActivityPub by instantly being the biggest player out there.
It was only ever window dressing.
