Water is wet, researchers find
Like basic thermodynamics can tell you that carbon capture sucks efficiency wise. It's more work to pour water on the floor and then mopping it up and putting a back into the bottle, than just not not spilling the water in the first place.
I would think, in the US, antitrust laws would apply.
ARM is brittish
Is this different from Intel and x86 architecture? (Genuinely asking)
yes the ARM architecture is it's own thing, licensed by ARM.
It can be really bad for the industry if ARM is both a producer of chips and the gatekeeper within the ARM ecosystem. I don't know if there are laws against this or loopholes through them, but what is going to prevent them from just withholding license or technologies to push competition out?
I mean US sanctions will force companies to use it, if it ever becomes real. Think like Huawei wanting to sell stuff to Russia, but US threatens to kick any bank out of swift that trades with Russia. So then they would have this Brics-$ to circumvent that. That's the whole point. US is sanctioning so many countries that there is a need for alternative, not that USD/swift is bad system for those using it. USD needs replacing because it has become a Washington's geopolitical sledgehammer and a chokepoint to free flowing world trade. Even Putin said that only reason they have been reduing dollar usage, because they have been barred from using it, not because they are particularly eager to do it by itself.
Companies would want it because it would a one way to secure their profits and nation's would want it because it frees them from the unilateral sanction sledgehammer.
"Brics currency" would go around the problems of gold, becausse they have been planning for it to be tied to a "basket of goods" like oil, wheat, gold, etc. It has always been about solving the balance of payments issue among the member states, without using the dollar or gold. You are right that an Euro-like currency would be bad for Brics countries economies because of their development levels' but so is Euro stifling for most the EU countries, but I digress.
It's really difficult to even start to build even an Keynes' Bancor like global reserve currency, much less some "Brics Euro" to be used within the countries (which was never in the cards to begin with btw). However this American sanction obsession is very much creating the need to replace the dollar worldwide. Under Biden one set of countries were sanctioned, and now Trump is sanctioning pretty much everybody else that Biden didn't sanction. US itself is the main driver of de-dollarization, not Brics. Who the hell even wants to live with a US gun on their temple anyway, even if you are so called "US ally". Now Canada and Europe are getting slapped punitive tariffs on, because the administration changed, countries therefore can't have just one main way to do global trade.
It's our protecting democracy when we remove people that we don't agree with.
It would probably be the end of the union at that point. Really Orwellian to boot.
Good, European security should be European business only.
I haven't been on NVIDIA for a while so i couldn't tell for sure. I know that nvidia raytracing works on linux, but I'm not sure how it goes with the open drivers. If the noveau performance and stability is still somewhat lacking in general, then if both open drivers and raytracing are important to you then AMD is still the better bet.
Do you play a lot of games with ray tracing, or do you care about that stuff? If you don't then AMD, it's better bang for the buck for rasterization and works better on Linux.
your industry obviously isn't thriving on renewables The german "green transition" of the past few years is widely explained on expensive energy killing heavy industry and therefore lowering total energy consumption and making renewables more pronounced in german energy mix. You done goofed by shutting your nuclear plants down.
EU has no significant AI prowess to speak of, so it cannot be counted among the main players in the race. EU is just a consumer of American and Chinese AI that can only hope to maybe do some regulation with it.
"America is becoming fascist" makes me cringe.
It cannon become something that it has been for a long time. US was fascist under Clinton, Bush, Obama, first Trump admin, Biden and it keeps on the same track now. It's less than useless rallying cry when US foreing policy alone in the past 70 years is a realworld example of the thought experiment of "what would have happened if nazi-germany had won WW2". Genocide, war, coup, and dictatorship galore committed by the United States, especially after the 80s.
In the end what this narrative is about is that precarious middle class liberals fear that even more of the practices that US has been spreading around the world are now coming home and now the US government will gut it's own people instead of some foreigners. Even this isn't unprecedented and at worst Trump can only make things worse for some, but for many what they fear is already reality.
Makes me really think if this "Anonymous cell" has any real grass-roots basis or if it's just the same coup-mongers hiding behind thin leftist veneer to just jump against Trump, who they see as destructive loose cannon to their operations, not as an real opponent. Nothing new for Anonymous name being used in this way btw. Where were they under Biden?
Cats killing birds for fun is more a symptom of humans feeding them, but the cat still having the instinct to hunt. In nature they would probably just kill for food 99% of the time, not do it for sport or play.
Siten tuotanto on kalliimpaa, eikä esim vienti vedä.
No tää on ihan oikea havainto, ei vaan johdu temusta.
