@kingtoms @mastodon Implementing the things that worked for other platforms early on and hoping that won't lead to the same bad outcomes seems way too optimistic, IMHO.

And a platform doesn't need to be big to cause change; I think Twitter, at its best, had more impact than FB, but it was never nearly as large.

@kingtoms @russjr08 Famous for what? There are some well-known technologists here, some journalists, a few others noteworthy in their fields.

@kingtoms @mastodon Mastodon is smaller than platforms like FB & XTw, and there are no algorithms.

To make your feed more interesting, follow some people (it's mostly people here, though there are a few organizational accounts), follow hashtags (you can do that here), and check out the "Live feed" of your instance.
