Intel releases one last microcode update to fix high-end desktop CPU crashes
  • So glad I got a 12900k. Apparently they beefed up the reliability of the 12th Gen since it was the first gen with the new framework, but crapped out on the subsequent gens. Looking like it's going to be the best CPU for quite some time.

  • xkcd #2990: Late Cenozoic
  • If you go to a museum and see an impressive skeleton of a dinosaur, you're not actually looking at dinosaur bones. And no, I don't mean because they've calcified and become "rock". I mean the real bones are in a drawer somewhere, if they even exist. What you're looking at is plaster, often with many of the pieces wholly created from scratch in order to produce a full skeleton.

  • Harris Backs Eliminating Senate Filibuster to Restore Federal Abortion Rights
  • I'm in favor of the filibuster, but the original version. You want to delay legislation? Fine, stand your happy ass up and start talking for hours without stopping. The old fucks wouldn't be able to do it, and those that can would have to spend days doing nothing else, and getting no other work done. After hour 4 or 5, a senator bought by corporate interests is going to be exhausted and start wondering if what they're being paid is worth the personal effort. By 24 hours, only those who feel true, personal conviction about their beliefs could continue.

  • Chappell Roan Clarifies Presidential Endorsement Comment After Backlash: "No, I'm Not Voting For Trump"
  • Which hit song?

Are you talking about Pink Pony Club? HOTTOGO? Good Luck, Babe? Casual? Red Wine Supernova? My Kink is Karma?

She has many songs that have absolutely blown the fuck up this year. All of those that I listed are currently on the billboard top 100 and she's had several more that made it on at some point in the last several months.

  • 'It explodes': Trump's latest rant against green energy falsely attacks 'hydrogen cars'
  • The thing is, hydrogen is a byproduct of damn near every industry. It's usually just released into the atmosphere because it's a pain in the ass to capture and store and isn't worth much. If it starts being in demand, you can bet your ass they'll start trying to gather it.

  • What's the best way of planning a route for a moving van on a cross-country (US) trip?

I'm moving across the country in a few weeks and am trying to plan my route as I'll be driving a moving van with a car towed behind it. The entire drive will be 16-17 hours.

Google maps seems limited for searching everything I'd want to take into account for the route (pull through gas stations, height requirements, avoiding mountain highways, etc.) and was wondering if anyone knew of a better way to plan out the trip?
