I don't see them as "others" because they have different beliefs. I see them as "others" because they have willingly allowed propaganda to radicalized them into believing we don't deserve the same rights as as them, which gives them an excuse to see us as less than human. When they don't believe we deserve rights and are less than human, this happens.

I don't think anyone understands the context you're trying to present that in. There are virtually no Trans people or allies that believed the republicans wouldn't come for them. The edition I have has some excerpts from an interview he did way back in the day and he talks about how he had to produce different scripts for adaptations and how the story had evolved over time. His solution was when he had to change the script everyone either said the same things for different reasons or different things for the same reasons. It made it feel like the story was always kind of fluid for him.
