What does pace mean?
  • 4.69 km/h is speed, whereas 12:42 (min:sec) / km is speed.

Garming measures and displayed both speed and pace. There's a variety of settings on watch and app regarding speed vs. pace.

Generally, I prefer pace as its easier to compare 1km, 5km and 10km pace and predict times.

  • Fails to load subtitles
  • Same here...

Underpowered server is what I suspect. It's taking too long to extract subtitles that it times out. Subsequent requests will work as the result is cached once it eventually finishes.

My workaround was to use external subtitles to remove the need to extract. If you're using the *arrs checkout bazarr.

Might be true. Daily Mail does occasionally accidentally report facts.

  • Question: Jellyfin plugin repositories
  • It's not a plugin. It's a separate companion application.

Docker is the recommended route https://hub.docker.com/r/fallenbagel/jellyseerr

  • Question: Jellyfin plugin repositories
  • This might be worth a look

Personally, intro-skipper is my absolute must-have.

Also, media cleaner is good for those who watch a lot of content but then don't want to keep it. It's controversial as most users want to keep content. But you can configure to keep your favourites. I do this for films, but then tv shows I watch once and let it clean up after me as I don't care to see it again. Combined with the *arrs for fetching content, it means I don't need to ever manage tv shows.

  • Norris fined €50,000 for crossing a live track(after his crash in the sprint) and a reprimand.
  • So 25,000 euros to cross the track? Miami prices are a bit steep. How much to add an ounce of caviar to that?

  • I believe dev confirmed a short while back that it's under development in response to another similar post here.

  • F1 Academy: Involvement of F1 teams in all-female series must go beyond branding, says Naomi Schiff
  • It comes down to the talent pool and its size. There are not enough female racing drivers yet.

Need more young girls/women in karting/feeder series. Unfortunately, that likely won't happen until a talented woman "makes it" into f1.

For years, people have been pinning hopes on different upcoming drivers to be the one.

Its probably going to take a talented woman who is capable of beating more than half the field of men before they get a chance, unfortunately. Rather than just being better than a few of the current drivers, which is unfair.

  • New Asustor NAS. Why won't the surveillance center load?
  • There's a bug with it, introduced last month or so... expect it to take months to be fixed.

To get around it, for now, the only solution I've found is to click the tabs in the first couple of seconds of front page loading. If you wait too long, it is unresponsive.

I suspect there's a JS bug somewhere. It's not the first time Asustor has broken Surveillance and made it unusable. Last time, it took about 3 months to fix.

When it works, it's OK. Testing before releasing updates is seemingly non-existent.

  • What does "fishcake" mean to you?
  • Fishcake tends to be flaked fish mixed with a starchy ingredient (usually potato mash) that's given a crispy coating. You'll find minced cheap fish and potato used on the cheaper varieties.

So, a fillet of fish, sandwiched between potato slices and covered in a crispy batter, isn't a million miles away from the traditional fish cake.

  • [Phillip Horton] Some updates from the F1 Commission: - Scoops permitted for F1 cars in extreme heat - Tyre blankets to remain in 2025 - No work on 2026 car allowed until 2025 - Sprint 2024 schedule/
  • What's the definition of extreme heat? Where and how are temps measured? How much notice do teams get that they're allowed? What is the definition of a scoop?

Seems like that rule is going to be a mess unless they really nail the fine print.

  • so I'm back with Netflix and Amazon...
  • I use an old crappy asustor nas. With a dozen docker containers all fighting over 2Gb ddr3 ram. Jellyfin, without transcoding, as one of those docker containers works great.

Subtitles, tracking progress, syncing from trakt, pulling in new shows, movies etc all automatically.

The only issues I've had are from either trying to stream some high BitRate 4k films on my shitty network, or media that requires transcoding that my poor overworked nas can't handle.

Issues are generally hardware, config or media related. Jellyfin isn't perfect, but it's far, far better than you give it credit for.
