  • Lol, it feels strange being invited here as someone not a mod or instance admin, and my original intent was to just lurk silently.

That's the whole idea, all the people here are regular posters. They might be mods or admins too, but that doesn't really matter. We are here to talk about how it feels to post regularly, and it's something that only a few people really experience.

  • Hello,

FYI I just pinged you in !fedigrow@lemm.ee, a community where we discuss how to grow and keep communities active. I remember you being quite an active poster, so feel free to have a look if this sounds interesting to you!

  • I had a quick look at the initial thread, but that's not my community, so I didn't care too much.

I had a look here and removed agressive comments. So I guess here we are okay for now.

  • Hello,

Thank you very much for your comment, I wholeheartedly agree.

At first we wanted people to join, so we were more lenient. I guess it is now time to protect the space, and not be afraid to take sanctions for people who are straight up rude.

  • Ah, I see what you mean. I thought you meant that PeerTube content could be followed from Lemmy, which is already the case.

About your question, I don't know.

  • Interesting, I never noticed, guess I'll have to reinstall Thunder.

On browser, there is lemmyverse.link, but

    • if the site goes down, all your links are now dead
    • having to select the instance people want to see the link would probably be annoying to most users

I am not sure how apps can do it better than the web UI, but I had a quick look on the Github and that issue is still open: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/2987

  • There is !casualconversation@lemm.ee for positive or at least neutral conversation.

If you see too much negativity here, you are probably hanging out in toxic communities.

I saw your last post about Kaspersky on the Piracy community, sorry to see the comments you got.

Each community has its own vibe and moderation policy. A few of them are quite toxic, a few are very nice, the rest is in between.

  • Looking forward to see you there, you indeed post a lot, I'm sure you'll have interesting insight

  • No worries, I'm sure most of people didn't notice.

Definitely agree on the fact that LW is a too central on Lemmy. If you want to discuss this, we created a community recently on that theme: !fedigrow@lemm.ee. Feel free to join, some discussions might interest you!

  • I'm not sure myself, can you try a reverse search based on the image?

  • I mod enough communities to be honest, and people tend to have comments around how the content is interesting. Not the most polarizing community.

We can try like this for a bit, and if needed, I'll step in, but I would rather not
