Ain't nobody got time for that crap!
  • Seriously, the job I have now requried a masters degree. My cover letter and my 10+ years of specfic experience got them to talk to me even though I only have an associates degree.

Now I am the go-to for search commitees in my department, and the only thing worse then no cover letter is when folks use a form one and forget to change ot or fill in the blanks.

  • Am i the only one who feels like it's the same handful of users posting and commenting on lemmy?
  • Same, I typically only comment if I have something new to add to the conversation. That being said, I probably comment more on lemmy then I used to on reddit simply because with a this smaller community there is more of a chance that what I want to share has not already been said.

  • Update: Nothing illegal here. Virginia reused envelopes from last year.
  • OP I am an absentee voter in Blacksburg just next door. Shine a light on the blacked out part. I am 99% sure this is legit, they just crossed out the witness requirement. I can see the word witness under the sharpie in your picture. Virgina doesnt have to do that witness thing anymore. We did at the last general election, so I am guessing they just reused the same envelopes. You should call and ask your elections office before alerting the news. They are hardworking folks whose jobs are already 100 times harder then they used to be. Stirring up reports of election fraud where it isn't happening makes us just as bad as them.

  • Trans Teen Hatches Nefarious Plot To Undergo Years Of Medical Treatments And Counseling To Win At Swimming
  • Except there is no choice involved. Its not "becoming trans" anymore than its "becoming tall" or "becoming gay". Those are all things you are born with. Now a trans person may choose to medically transition or not; they are still trans either way. "Trans" and "cis" are adjectives and both are things you are born with regardless of what you do about it.

  • People Who Don't Wear Deodorant or Seemingly Bathe Regularly, Why?
  • I highly recommend isotretinoin (accutane) for hyperhidrosis. Its primarily prescribed for zits, but off label for hyperhidrosis. Its not fun when you're on it but the changes are seemingly permanent. A full year after completing his treatment and my husband is still much less sweaty and his skin is much clearer to boot.

    Talk to your dermatologist!
