FBI director says a judge accused of helping someone evade immigration agents has been arrested

  • I have changed brands on several products because I started paying attention to where the product comes from or what's its parent company. Fortunately, most of my purchases were already from local or national brands, so it hasn't been too life changing.

However, I am now looking at labels way more than a few months ago.

  • It is crazy. Reason why I never do it. I can't find a single good reason to use gift cards instead of money.

And for digital game preorders? That's even dumber. The publisher is not going to run out of bits, if you purchase after the launch, your digital game will be delivered all the same. But I guess corporate shills need to feel that they are helping the poor multi million corpo..

  • This morning tho, the assholes were trying to go on with the purchase alleging that breaking the contract would mean to pay a penalty (without saying what the penalty would be). After the other parties in the coalition started throwing threats of leaving the government, seems the penalty suddenly became a non issue.

  • I can accept that. But the problem is that autism is not a disease, it's a different kind of brain wiring. Our brains are different, you can't "treat" autism without changing the brain itself. In some cases, autism brings people to a state in which they can't live in a neurotypical society without support, but you wouldn't be able to cure them because you'd need a new brain for them.

The solution is not "curing" or "treating" autism, the solution is making a society that has in mind also the neurodivergences, something that doesn't happen today.

  • Because we are not ill. We have a differently wired brain. You can't just rewire my synaptic connections in a neurotypical way. The only way to "cure" autism is by removing autistic people from the world and... I'm not gonna agree with such solution.

I really hope you are asking this out of innocent ignorance, because the alternative would make you part of the problem and... there are words for you in that case, words that could probably get me banned.

  • Except, you know, autism can't be cured and, you know, the uptick in cases is not because a raise in the numbers but a better diagnosis.

If they spent that money and time in improving autistic people life quality instead of "curing" them, the world would be a much better place.

  • Well, you know, it depends. The person you are encouraging is planning to kill thousands or even millions directly or indirectly with their politics?

Because there could be a difference between an anonymous person and a potential mass murderer.

  • See? Bullying fascism works. It's the only thing that works. Fascism is fought with violence (physical or otherwise) as it's the only language that it understands.

When an opponent doesn't care about rules, playing by those rules only puts you at disadvantage.

  • I saw the images. Kinder eggs. They are by no means unique or even good. They are just cheap chocolate with cheap licensed figures. I mean, there are way better eggs if you want to make a meaningful present. He just went with what the fucker deserved. A cheap option for a cheap asshole.

  • He gave the fucker 3 kinder eggs! I'd personally be offended if the pope himself, as an easter present , gave me a fucking kinder egg! I mean, you find those in any supermarket for around 6-7€ each. And that's the present you give to the VP of "the most important country in the world"? That's not a diss, that's THE diss.
