There were complaints so they patched the system. Again, another nothinburger... Always coming from the same poster.

Nothingburger. Stop spamming please. This has nothing to do with tech. You cannot just post anything you want and ask people to leave if they are not happy.
To be fair, Lemmy has the same problem, there are at least two trolls I've encountered with such username.
I think that the main thing this reveals about the bluesky admins is that they haven't thought that hard about harrasment, which is weird to not do if you're trying to launch a new social media platform.
If you already made Twitter you have no excuse
Blocking trashy, racist, etc is one of, if not the first thing that should be included and they couldn't even be bothered. Not giving me hope.
Apparently, making it so people couldn’t use the n-word in their user name just wasn’t a priority. But making it so you could get banned for using “cracker,” however, was.
An unfortunate oversight, definitely. Acting like it was an intentionally malicious choice or that it makes bluesky so incompetent they should shut down is a huge reach, though.

Ok Dorsey doesn’t own Bluesky but Bluesky is apparently completely independent from Musk and Twitter which ultimately was all I was concerned with. Thank you.
