When the source is one that consistently lies, covers up for lies, fabricates fake disasters, and covers up real ones, all in the interest of swaying public opinion to keep the powerful rich and the rich powerful, then an attack on the source is an attack on the material.
Ideas come from somewhere and are going somewhere and often if you know where they come from, then you know where they are going. Trying to divide everything up into discreet little defined categories that don't have an effect on each other is a cognitive virus. All it does is entrench power and keep people from seeing the bigger picture.
