I've had kiosks prompt me for tips, even making me hit Custom and type 0.00.
I'm so tired of Wall Street Journal, Readers Digest, Square, and Clover pushing the idea that we need to tip everybody everywhere because covid. It's ridiculous. I don't want to live in a country where everybody behind a counter can be paid $2.13 an hour.
One thought that could change this whole thing:
Paying higher wages.
It's a crazy idea!
Right? It's not covid. The media and Square are helping employers get away with shit wages.
The sad thing is, enough Americans think being able to tip everybody more easily is a great thing, so this is only going to continue to get worse.
I don't tgink tipping is responsible for that low a wage. in BC Canada its almost $16 min wage, plus tips
I'm talking about the US, of course. Most states still allow employers to pay "tipped employees" $2.13 an hour.
That's only if you live in a state where they're allowed to pay that
Which is still the majority of them.
Does it count as scowling if thats just your natural face🤔
