We are going to Vegas, and Wifey and I want to wander around like stoned idiots looking at all the pretty lights. You know, like reasonable people.
Is it a big deal to pop a gummy in public in Las Vegas? They make a big deal about no public use, but I'm assuming a gummy won't be a big deal like smoking would be. We do this in other legal places all the time, but I have no idea which activities are and are not clamped down on in Vegas.
While we are at it, can you recommend any fun stoned activities in Las Vegas?
My first time to Vegas was before any legalization, and someone in a neon green light up pot leaf shirt threw open his jacket to try to entice me along the strip.
Seemed like a good way to end up in jail in a far away from home, so I stuck to drinking in the open like a sensible person.
Agreed. I go somewhat frequently and see/smell people smoking on the strip all the time. Using on the casino floor is probably the only legitimate way to get in trouble.
Also don't buy anything on the strip itself as all those shops are selling hemp or fake weed. The dispensaries off the strip sell the real deal. I typically go to The Reef just off the north end of the strip near the fashion mall.
Are you a regular of MJ? If not, do NOT take edibles. Get a disposable vape. Take a small puff. Wait 15-30 mins. take another small puff. If you're still good after another 15-30 mins, you're probably fine to rip a good one.
I can drink anyone under the table, but I'm a lightweight with weed. Take it slow. Don't end up being so high you have to stay in the hotel room for 36 hours like my wife.
15-30 minutes between puffs? This explains why I've yet to have a good experience with thc. Skipping straight from "is this working?" to "memory resets every six seconds" isn't fun.
Oh, absolutely. Virtually every strain out there is insanely potent these days. Even day to day, my body reacts differently. Sometimes, one puff is all I need. Other times more.
Super regular, but thanks for the warning. I also can't vape because oral cancer - unrelated to smoking - took half my tongue. Doctors aren't keen on vaping after that for some reason.
The fast acting edibles out there now are way more forgiving than traditional as well. They hit much faster so there is less risk of overdoing it.
Lost Spirits is in the same complex and is closing soon, if you're going to Las Vegas in the next few weeks it would be hard to recommend it more highly.
It's not gonna be a problem, just don't be obviously impaired. Don't gamble or do any of the more adult shows while in any altered state. Stick to the Strip and Fremont street areas.
Wandering the Strip and Fremont St. experience are both good fun. The ceiling of the mall at the Venetian was extra trippy. The playground at Circus Circus was fun. I'm sure the amusements at New York, New York would be fun too.
We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave... So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high water mark — that place where the wave finally broke, and rolled back.
Stay under 5mg. Wait at least 4 hours before taking a second gummy. The general tolerance for edibles is lower than smoking. Edibles also last a lot longer and hit harder than smoking.
Definitely don’t drink while high as I would not recommend it unless you were staying put in one place.
Try to follow the crowds; let the locals and other tourists make the first move crossing the streets and crosswalks.
My impression of the cops there is that they are very strict if you’re stumbling around being a danger to the drivers and tourists. Being impaired in Vegas on the street is kinda tolerated since it’s an open container legal place.
Thank you for the advice. We are experienced with edibles, so we know our tolerances well. It helps that the new fast acting edibles make it so much easier to tweak your level of high.
We have navigated NYC high many times, and it's been a blast. Times Square at night while stoned is especially fun. I'm assuming Vegas won't be worse than midtown Manhattan for needing to be aware of traffic, etc.
