This announcement was the final push for me to create an account on Lemmy. Honestly I don't know if I would've continued using any Reddit-like platform if it weren't for Boost.
So excited! I've been a redditor for 14 years, I've tried at least a dozen apps, and Boost was hands down my favorite. Solid apps coming to Lemmy from Reddit is exactly what people need to encourage them to migrate.
@rmayayo@lemmy.world for all the people who don't pay much attention but have Boost on their phone, have you considered updating the app with a big ol' "come to Lemmy" notice?
Holy +$@#$%-!! I was floating in the Pacific Ocean for weeks ๐ฅถ after the ship sank. A kind Samaritan pulled me aboard and I'm now safe and sound ๐ค๐ฏ in the BoostforLemmy community.
Also am very much looking forward to the impending app release!
So excited, can't wait Ruben.
Do you have an idea of a timeline as yet? No pressure, but just wanted to have an idea of what you were expecting yourself.
I was unsure where to look for a Reddit alternative, but seeing this app being ported to Lemmy made my decision a lot easier. Looking forward to a smooth transition with Boost.
The first time I've "pre-ordered" an app on the play store. Loved boost for reddit, during the blackout I started the rocket one last time and deleted it. Super excited to get it back, thanks for all the work!
Will be launching the rocket as soon as this becomes available, none of the current Android apps have gotten close to how good Boost was for Reddit. Can't wait to use it again
I can't wait for this app to release! I've been using Boost for reddit for as long as I can remember and while the current crop of Lemmy apps are okay, they just don't compare to Boost IMO.
Registered on Lemmy today because Boost for Reddit died and I don't really want to use Reddit because of the CEO. Now seeing that you are making Boost for Lemmy, I'm really happy! Do you have a release date ready? I'm just so excited :D
This makes me so happy! I'm so glad you decided to make a Lemmy app and I'm very much looking forward to using it. Thank you so much for your hard work with Boost, both for Reddit and now for Lemmy!
Been using boost over on Reddit for years, your app's awesome.
Can't wait to buy the fediverse one. You're going to be appreciated for this, a LOT of us have come over here thanks to spez's total goddamn madness.
Glad to see you here with us!
P.s. Any chance that it may also support kbin one day too? They should be sorting out their API soon since a lot of devs just migrated over and Ernest actually has help developing kbin now. Sure, I can just make as Lemmy account in the meantime, but it'd be a pretty cool eventual option to have
