I usually try out a ton of shows, but also drop a lot of them as the season goes on.
I'll include a rating giving my current opinion to shows I'm watching, obviously subject to change.
Hoping to finish the ones from last season soon, so I can start more from this season. I try not to watch too many anime per season as it just gets too hard to keep up.
I generally only watch one or two shows as they air each season and then binge them at the end because I can’t stand the wait, so my pick this season is the vending machine!
I found the vending machine one to be strangely interesting in a stereotypical kind of way. Kenshin I'll probably drop, seemed like a direct copy or close enough of the original and live action movies. I liked My Happy Marrige a lot more than I expected and really need to see the next episode to make a determination. I really didn't like The girl I like forgot her glasses. The production is... something, and not in a good way. And the story isn't catching me.
I'm more or less trying out everything this season (been doing so for a few now).
The big names are all awesome as expected but I'm really enjoying a lot of the smaller ones as well.
The romcoms have been a lot less enjoyable for me this season so far (last season was STACKED), but I'm still seeing some flashes of brilliance here and there.
Struggling to find anything to watch this season. Seems like most shows this season are either continuing series that I don't care about, or fall pretty firmly into my "don't bother" list: uninspired isekai schlock, drawn out will they/won't they romcoms, and contrived harems in which everyone inexplicably likes the self-insert main character just because he's the only "nice" male in a 50 mile radius.
Ryza is okay but the characters are absurdly dumb (let me closely inspect these blue flowers to check if they are white or not). Zom 100 seems all right and is well animated but the first episode of [40 minutes of generic Japanese salaryman backstory that I don't care about] was really tedious to get through. I gave the vending machine a chance for at least trying to be unique but was not at all impressed - it's just the same isekai crap beneath the surface (just buy the exact skill I need to solve each problem that appears). Will probably try to watch the first 3 eps of Helck in one sitting because people have been enthusiastic about it, hopefully it's decent.
If anyone has any recommendations for a good comedy or fantasy series I'll check it out, otherwise it's probably gonna be a backlog season for me.
