I'm tired of seeing an equal amount of bitching about current meme trends as I see the current meme trends, personally. Especially when the complaints are coming after less than 24 hours of a trend forming.
- Shitposting was more entertaining when each post was different, not whatever circle jerk.
  
  Don't get me wrong, I have been laughing at some of the Taylor Swift and Jeans ones - but I haven't been going directly to c/shitposting because when most every joke is the same its a lot less entertaining because you already know the punchline.

  i disagree with therealjcdenton but you're missing the point.
  
  they're saying that 196 "infected" the previously good other communities on Lemmy, so them blocking 196 itself doesn't do much, and they're losing out on content if they block the"infected" communities as well.
- In the beginning after the blackout, 196 was one of the biggest Lemmy communities. It definitely helped driving the switch
  
  Its disappointing that out of all the subreddits 196 was the one to move
