This is a problem in instant messaging. In situations where I would have linked to a page containing an image, I've been in the habit of saving the image and sending it to the other person directly. It's faster. And I'll be honest I'm not writing attributions or credits when I do that unless they actually ask for the source. It would be better if everyone shared things by their actual original source, but like I said it's faster.
Youtube is one of the only mainstream commercial sites still decent for this.
I literally cannot make an account, I've been trying for years, it doesn't accept any of my email addresses or phone numbers.. I think I'd have to make a gmail just to make a twitter
They let me use a Hotmail address for my first account, but I made it when I was a kid and when I tried to change my birthday they banned it. My second account was made using that sign in with Google feature.
It's extremely common, but there are still a few sites left that won't force you to log in. YouTube is one such example, though of course it has its own problems too.
