An FBI spokesperson said the Redstone Facility "cannot accommodate the minimum of 8,500 personnel" planned at a new headquarters.

“We recommend that the appropriations bills eliminate any funding for the FBI that is not absolutely essential for the agency to execute its mission, including as a starting point eliminating taxpayer funding for any new FBI headquarter facility and instead examining options for relocating the FBI’s headquarters outside of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area,” Jordan wrote in the letter.

No other lawmakers signed onto the letter, so it wasn’t clear why several of the paragraphs said “we” instead of “I.”

Gym Jordan and all the other Republican bastards trying to work the refs for fascism by saber rattling at the FBI is honestly really dangerous for us, but I do just have to point and laugh at this detail

First, Republicans trying to put pressure on the FBI, one of the most historically "conservative" arms of the executive branch, because their guy committed crimes and got caught is laughable.
Second, the Hoover building is old as shit and probably well past it's useful life. It needs to be replaced.
Third, the idea of moving the Bureau's HQ away from DC makes zero sense.
Fourth, just a friendly reminder that there are credible allegations that Jim Jordan knew members of the wrestling team at Ohio State were being sexually abused, while he was the assistant coach, and he did nothing about it.

Yeah, good luck getting any worthwhile candidates if they have to move to Alabama.

No Federal Government Headquarters should be in Alabama. None.
