Because ofc 2018 only very few accidents happened because they were not yet this popular.
Plus with light traffic its very important to specify what kind of accidents did happen, who was at fault and so on.
I think they are indeed pretty dangerous, but I agree that the numbers they give are meaningless. It would be great to see a well-done statistical comparison between different transportation modes.
