I would argue that apple pie was "stolen" since they have a whole phrase "as american as apple pie" when it isn't even american. It wasn't traded. It likely came with the brits et al, that colonised america. And since has become a staple of american culture.

- I think the image is only looking at where the plant originated. Weed came from the Himilayas, in Asia. If it was strictly where the stuff you're consuming were grown, then the apples in the apple pie, lemons in the lemonade, cabbage from the coleslaw, corn on the cob, and the hot dogs would all probably be considered American since that's most likely where they were grown/made.

It is a mixed bag, some support legalization and smoking weed. A lot of the MAGA base are older, 60's (era of flower power, drugs, freedom) gen that sold out their peace/no war to become CEO's and fuck over the workers, yet still like to party. The other side are more religious, so "god" has told them (in their minds, I guess) that weed and all drugs are bad. Pharmaceuticals though, are welcome, in hand-fulls. It is all fuzzy math, really.
