In 2022, AIM sponsored an ad campaign against antisemitism that used a truck with a digital image of Hitler giving the Nazi salute. The image included the text: "All in favor of banning Jews, raise your right hand." Several rocks were thrown at the truck. I miss chatting on AIM so much. I mean when I was in middle school other kids used it to harass me but as I got older I had internet friends on there and irl friends on there and chatted chatted chatted. Miss it.
It was a different era. Spending hours writing out away messages, getting yelled at by your friends because the font/color combinations you picked were borderline illegible.
