As an American, my personal opinion is that America deserves all the pain in inflicts upon itself by electing literal morons and spineless idiots year after year, culminating in the literal Idiocracy America has become.

There is a line from "Going Postal" which sums it up amazingly, but I can't find the quote. Something to the effect of "I tell them what I am, I show them how the cards are marked, and they smile and nod to each other, and think themselves fine fellows for doing business with me."

1/3 openly wants to suck Trumps dick and loves everything he does. 1/3 didn’t care to get off their couch, so they’ve openly accepted what Trump is going to do, none of which should be a surprise unless you decided to cut yourself off from politics, which means you just don’t care.
The only people that didn’t want this is the remaining 1/3 that voted against Trump. As for the rest of you, this is all on you. You wanted this and you’re going to get it.
And I know I'm not gonna see so much as one picosecond of displeased facial expression from any of you "the Democrats didn't impress me enough" non-voters, since this is what you decided was an acceptable outcome.

Not defending that guy's assertion but there's some things the article ignored in order to be a little more of a doomer take. Notably the 35% preloading of inventory and the bit about if Trump removed the tarrifs today it would be too late. Those two parts contradict. We are overstocked on inventory for now and the clock is ticking (as far as the big retailers go). However the US's reputation is marred on the world stage and trade deals are worthless with a conman. So yep, even if he drops tarrifs we're screwed, but it'll be a while still until shelves are empty.
