Trump orders Corporation for Public Broadcasting to end federal funding for NPR and PBS

So he shot Big Bird on 5th ave and we're going to let him get away with it.
- It's not his call & an illegal executive order, funding is Congress and the corporation for public broadcast is a corporation not a government department.
  
  That statement could be applied to a lot of things he's done and gotten away with so far so forgive me if that fails to give me hope
  
  Do you really believe that's going to stop this from happening?

Okay, so under normal circumstances, is this something the president is allowed to do, or is this something that should be congress' decision? Because it feels like the latter.
This is just super disappointing. PBS has some really great programming.
- It has guaranteed funding through 2027 by Congress, so no.
  
  and the cpb was set up by congress specifically in a way that denies the president the ability to do shit like this.
- No. I think almost all of his executive orders have been things only congress does. No one is really stopping him from pumping hundreds of them out whether or not they’re even allowed to work. Also, he’s trying to pressure a private company through executive order in this case. They can say “fuck no.” And they should say “fuck no.”
  
  Judges can and have been issuing rulings “blocking” Trump’s actions. But he ignores those rulings and keeps on going.
  At some point, push will come to shove; meaning, these judicial rulings will have to be enforced, somehow.
  There’s not really a good vehicle for enforcing the law on rogue presidents. Unless someone is willing to physically arrest and detain him, possibly muscling past secret service in order to (attempt to) do so, they won’t be enforced at all.
  If someone will be willing to enforce the law, and can successfully do so, the Constitution may be saved.
  If not, we de facto have a king, regardless of de jure court rulings.
- Just another court battle. Trump is making lawyers rich again.
  
  This is a favorite GOP trick. They get elected and pass laws they know will be challenged. Because they are the government they can fund the fight with taxpayer money, while the Left has to fund raise. As a bonus, every dollar that goes to the Left lawyers means a dollar that doesn't go to a candidate.

American needs to 2nd amendment trump out of existence.
